Lot holiday barn: St Pantaleon

Preniac is a little piece of heaven. Preniac is one of the few locations I have every stayed at were I wanted to do nothing but chill out: by the pool, on the veranda or a stroll around the grounds. The accommodation is excellent and the hosts outstanding. On the down side it is difficult to enjoy the stay without a car, you can borrow bikes from the hosts (may be a hire charge), the nearest teenage night live is probable an hour away. The local shops and village are just in walking distance. Apart from the odd barking dog and the frogs, crooking in the small lake it is very tranquil – the nearest road is a mile away. The vista from Preniac lends its self to a run / walk of an hour with a chance to see the local orchids. The chance to partake in artwork is excellent as the hosts are very happy to help or you can join a professional course. Preniac is an ex farm, is on the side of a hill and the tracks / paths are rustic. Within an hours drive are outstanding attractions. The local dentist was excellent and cheap. The local Dutch Camp site does very reasonable meals. The local area is suitable for Mountain Biking and tranquil canoeing. With rock climbing, white water rafting, kayaking and canoeing with in easy reach. There are several outstanding classic canoe runs grade 2/3 doable in a day. The local French and the few Expat Brits are warm and friendly. The Saturday market is unmissable were you are more likely to see Germans and Dutch than British. The owners do have a dog so please check with them first if you want to bring your pet. There are trains from Toulouse to Cahors with BMI flights from Manchester to Toulouse for less than hundred pounds return. Public transport from Bergerac is difficult. We have stayed at Preniac ever year since is was renovated.
