Renovated manor house on 7 acres of parklands with private pool in S.W. France

Marican a manor house on the fringe of the Haut Languedoc national park has been lovingly restored retaining many of the original features an ideal holiday location for those wishing to relax in a truly beautiful area. On a south facing 600 m elevated 7 acre site we have the most stunning views over the Montagne Noire and the Mazamet valley. Those who enjoy outdoor activities such as hill walking, mountain biking, water sports, golf and horse riding will find all within the immediate area. Marican is an ideal base for touring this area rich in history with castles, dramatic gorges and caves. The medieval city of Carcassssonne is only 45km drive, Castres is only 20 minutes away. The historic towns of Albi, Besiers, Gaillac and all the famous wine producing areas of the region are close by. Traversing the forests of the Montagne Noire there are wonderful small towns with weekly markets and villages off the beaten track to experience rural France.

Marican is located just 10km from the local town of Mazamet with a full range of shops, supermarkets and restaurants, the nearest village St Baudille is just 3km from the property. The medieval city of Carcassonne is ony 45 kms north with flights from UK and Ireland . Toulouse airport just 80km. The drive from Mazamet to Carcassonne is on the Montagne Noire circuit taking in on that short journey many attractions, the hill top castles at Lastours, the medieval village of Hautpoul, the caves at Limousis and the giant underground cavern of Gabrespine. On the same mountain road is Le Lac de Montagnes which has man made beaches suitable for bathing as well as lovely forest walks. Castres with its famous riverside houses is only 20 minutes drive, the interesting Sidobre region with its amazing granite stone formations is only 9 km beyond Casters. The famous city of Albi is only 1 hours drive and the beaches of the med only 90 minutes away. Mariican is an ideal base for touring.
