Imagine relaxing on the sun-drenched terrace enjoying the stunning views over open countryside and woodland, then cooling off in the secluded private pool, followed by a delicious BBQ. You can walk or cycle from the doorstep into the interesting and beautiful local scenery of the Parc Naturel Regional des Causses de Quercy, or enjoy a day out canoeing on the Dordogne or Cele Rivers. This picturesque farmhouse, situated on the fringe of a quiet village, is ideally placed for a peaceful relaxing holiday, while being convenient for many of the attractions of the Dordogne region, e.g. Rocamadour , the Gouffre de Padirac or the prehistoric cave paintings at the Grotte de Cougnac. The vineyards along the Lot valley offer an interesting wine-tasting experience, and Regional cuisine can be savoured in the various restaurants in the area. The house has been modernised for comfortable living, while retaining its authentic character with its exposed beams and inglenook fireplace.

The house is situated 25 km south of the Dordogne river in the north-west of Lot. The area is peaceful and unspoilt, while being within easy reach of the many famous attractions of the Dordogne region. Convenient for Sarlat, Rocamadour, Gouffre de Padirac, Les Eyzies , and attractive old towns – Domme, St Cirq-Lapopie and Cahors - home to the famous 'black wine' with many vineyards offering 'degustation'. Beautiful local countryside for walking and cycling from the house. There are many activities for the family, including canoeing on the Dordogne, Lot and Cele rivers. There is a water park at nearby Payrac, and a “parc animalier” at Gramat. Two excellent golf courses within 30 km. Horse riding and fishing are available. Gourdon (15km) is an attractive medieval market town with all major facilities. Le Vigan (8 km) has a supermarket, butcher, pharmacy, boulangerie and restaurants. Grocery, bread and fish vans call weekly. Local produce is available from the neighbouring farmer.

Notes: The pool has a security cover complying with French regulations. Plenty of outdoor space for games and there is a table tennis table and a good collection of sports equipment (badminton, boules, water toys etc.) There is a large outdoor patio with double barbecue and dining table, plus a shaded veranda for midday dining.

On the website it looks all nice, but I must say that in real life much better. We had a fantastic holiday, very beautiful pool and the quiet surroundings. Highly recommended for someone who is calm and still like to make a trip to the attractions of the region are really not far away.
