Boussagou (pronounced Boo-sa-goo) is a collection of three stone farmhouses and five barns. It nestles in twenty acres of pasture including a large walnut orchard. It is surrounded by beautiful forests providing endless tracks for walking, riding and mountain biking (bikes provided Free of Charge). But if that sounds too energetic then relax around the 12 x 5 metre floodlit pool until the sun goes down. A play area in the garden includes a climbing frame, swings, slide and a trampoline. There is also an indoor games room with table tennis, table football, darts and other activities to suit all ages. The barn also has a large home cinema where children’s films will be shown on selective evenings, so you can have some quiet time without the kids, it’s up to you. We can also offer a babysitting service, if you would like the opportunity to dine out without the children! Each House is equipped with Satellite T.V. DVD player, Hi-Fi and wireless broadband.

Le Pigeonnier is a traditional stone farmhouse combining the charm of period features with all modern home comforts. It has a beautiful beamed farmhouse kitchen with dining area and open fireplace and is fully equipped including a dishwasher, microwave and washing machine. This leads to a spacious lounge with beamed fireplace and log burner. Facilities include satellite T.V. DVD player, Hi-Fi and wireless broadband. Upstairs there is a master double bedroom with en-suite showroom. Then two further bedrooms, both offering accommodation for up to three people. There is also a large family bathroom. Facilities are also available for young children by prior arrangement, including cot bed, highchair, sterilizer, buggy, stair gates, toys, etc Outside there is a private patio area with barbecue and furniture, perfect for al fresco dining. On arrival you will receive a ‘Welcome Pack’ which includes Tea, Coffee, fresh milk and a bottle of wine.

Only minutes from the property are the two picturesque villages of Marminiac and Cazals where you can buy your fresh croissants and baguettes. Haggle at the Sunday market (not to be missed) offering all sorts of fresh local produce and other goodies. There are local restaurants and bars and even a pizza takeaway (all very child friendly) and easy on the wallet. A Casino (minimarket, not gambling establishment!) also provides everything you might need, plus butchers, wine shop, hairdressers and even a museum. The surrounding area offers a huge selection of dining experiences. it is perfectly placed for access to all of the most beautiful sites in the Dordogne and the Lot. There are numerous chateaux to visit, caves to explore and pretty market towns to meander through. There is also a wide range of outdoor activities, for all ages, close by.

Boussagou was perfect! The gite was decorated with care and taste. There was a wonderful welcome book that explained the property. The house was well stocked and in perfect condition. Steve & Rachel, the Owners, were hospitable and warm. We spent our days exploring the countryside with tips from the Owners. The afternoons were for napping, painting, and swimming in the country. It was wonderful to sit outside at night listening to the crickets and watching the skies. We hope we can return very soon to a little piece of paradise.

Long winter let 2008 in the Le Longere, Boussagou

My husband and I (and cat) rented Le Longere whilst our house was being built in nearby Salviac. Having arrived in early November 2008 we couldn't have been better looked after by Steve and Rachel. The house has everything you could need for a long term rent or a 2 week holiday. Everything has been very well planned and we really appreciated our hosts advice as we started our new lives in France. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend any of the properties for rent at Boussagou. It really is a lovely spot. We'll never forget having our first Christmas in the snow! Well done Steve and Rachel.
