Beautifully restored and atmospheric farmhouse

A large farmhouse on the edge of a tiny village. The property, with private garden and swimming pool, sits on the top of a hill giving superb views. The house has been renovated; but not over-restored and retains all of its character. The ceilings and upstairs floors are wooden, and the ground floor tiled with ancient terracotta tiles. The centre piece of the house is a galleried hall with an enormous fireplace. Arches lead from here to a large kitchen with all you need, including an Aga and a living/eating area. Another, even bigger, arch adjoins a sitting room with a slightly smaller fireplace. An oak staircase to the gallery; off which are bedrooms and a passage leading under the eaves to yet more bedrooms and a bathroom. This openness gives a wonderful sense of space. The south facing terrace has terracotta brick arches and an 18 place table. To the southwest a garden with a 14ft trampoline, barbecue and pool on the edge of the sky set in 8 acres add to this sense of freedom.

Busquet is placed between the cities of Toulouse and Montauban in the Tarn-and Garonne. It is in the middle of a major fruit growing area as well as sunflowers, vines, wheat and maize. Wonderful bird life; with a profusion of Buzzards. The sun shines for a good deal of the time and the temperature averages a very pleasant 27 degrees during July and August. There are colourful markets on most days in the surrounding towns with a mouth watering choice of local cheeses, wines and vegetables. There are a variety of restaurants in nearby towns and dotted around the surrounding area. Places to explore range from chateaux and churches to canals and medieval towns. The more serious shopaholics can find all they need in Toulouse and Montauban.
