The Gite is attached, but completely separate to the owners farmhouse with its own entrance garden and terrace. The bedrooms are in a converted 200yr old pigeonnier. Guests have exclusive use of the pool whenever they require it, also use of the table tennis and boules court. The owners are on hand should guests require help or information otherwise they retain a low profile.

Ressegayre is situated 1Km from the village of Cazes Mondenard, a working French village with local facilities including a bakers, Post Office and bar/restaurant. The region has lovely rolling countryside with far reaching vistas of sunflowers, vines, melons and orchards. Rich in history, many 'Bastide 'Villages remain set on hilltops with magnificent views containing beautiful colonnaded squares. Our nearest 'Bastide', Lauzerte, is just ten minutes away. Further afield is St. Cirq Lapopie, reputed to be one of the prettiest villages in France. World Heritage site Roccamadour is just over an hour away. The cloisters at the magnificent Pilgims Abbey in Moissac is a Unesco World Site. Cahors with its Pont de Valentre and Montauban have great shops. Activities on the rivers Lot, Aveyron and the Tarn include kayaking, canoeing or cruise the rivers and canals with a sunset dinner. Golf, horse riding, quad biking walking, parachute jumping and adventure parks make for fun days out.

Idyllic Rural Retreat

My family and I spent two wonderfully realaxing weeks at Resseygare. The gite although next to the owners cottage offers a great deal of privacy and solitude. The owners, Richard and Tricia are wonderful people who will do all that they can to make sure that you have a superb holiday. We have two boisterous boys (age 12 and 10) who loved all the gite had to offer - the pool, table tennis, boules board games and numerous books. Richard and Trish were on hand to help with recommending restaraunts and activities and were always happy to make bookings for us. The gite has absolutely everything you will need - a real home from home. The surrounding area is very agricultural and beautiful. There are too many places to list to visit. Richard and Tricia have put together a fabulous book of places to eat/visit etc. We went to Tolouse and did the Airbus 380 tour which our youngest loved. The eldest enjoyed the canoeing down the river.

The gite is spotlessly clean as is the pool. Richard and Tricia made sure that the pool was ready every morning for the boys to jump into !

We had previously only had beach based holidays in France and were a little worried there wouldn't be enough for the boys to do but we did not miss the beach at all. Tricia arranged fishing permits for us before we had even arrived which the boys were delighted with, they spent many hours in the pool and we visited the local lake with it's man made beach.

This was without doubt the best holiday we had ever had. So much so that we booked 3 weeks for this year before we left last year. We can't wait for August to come around !

Resseygare is owned by two of the loveliest and most genuine people you are ever likely to encounter and offers a relaxing and comfortable corner in France I am sure you would want to go back to.
