Fishing Information:
We are not fishermen, but our guests often are, and they have told us what splendid fishing is to be had in the rivers and lakes around here. In fact the national French fishing competitions have often been held at the river just below our village and around Lafrancaise which is just 5 miles away.
We are in the middle of two important growing areas: The famous chasselas grapes and canteloupe melons. Imagine the sweetest of either, look on the side of the box and you probably will see the name of our village or commune on the label.From the garden/orchards, pick your own black cherries, figs,persimmons or plums. Next door are peaches, nectarines, apples, grapes and apricots -buy from the farm. You can relax around the pool, or visit some of the many delightful mediaeval towns and villages to be found in this area. There is a market day somewhere near here each day.
Activities/facilities:
Nearest river beach is 5 minutes by car. The local Golf course is just 5 minutes down the hill. Mini quadbikes, paintball, and watersports, are all within 15 minutes drive.In summer months one festival runs into another in Montauban; there is a singing festival in June followed by a European Jazz festival, usually with international stars, and jamming sessions at various venues throughout the historic redbrick town of Montauban. This is followed by dance festivals in late summer. Its official:- This tiny area (about 30 km triangle) around us is the darkest part of Europe, with such low light pollution, that most nights in summer are wonderful for stargazers and astronomers. From our field which is high with no trees, the sky is a joy to behold. Telescope evenings are not uncommon in August. We have two friendly western trained horses and we welcome horseback riders and their horses which can enjoy shady fenced fields, hay etc.

Many of our summer visitors have also been here to look at houses. We are not estate agents ourselves, but we used to be many years ago. We are therefore in a position to introduce you to some reliable agencies who can help you to find exactly what you are looking for. Having moved house UK-France and back twice over the last 20 years, having had babies both here and there, and so with 4 children in schooling from Maternelle to University, we are by no means strangers to the various systems here. You are welcome to chat and pick our brains during your stay here.
