The house is set in a pretty valley of farmland and woods. In summer the garden is usually surrounded by Sun Flowers!. There are no immediate neighbours, the nearest property being approx 500m away.
The area is a charming rural backwater of the Tarn, close to the historic town of Castres with its extraordinary riverside houses and Goya Museum. Also within easy reach is Albi, the beautiful medieval capital of the region with its dramatic Cathedral. Birthplace of Toulouse-Lautrec and home to a museum of his work.
Also within an hour's drive are the historic regional centre of Toulouse, the Disney-esque grandeur of the ancient fortified town of Carcassone, the Canal du Midi, the Black Mountains and many charming small towns and villages that time has simply passed by. This is Cathar country and is dotted with dramatic hill top castles.
Further a field, but well within the scope of a day trip are, The Mediterranean, The Pyrenees, The Tarn Gorges and even The Dordogne.
