Great Gite, Pool, Views and Food

We were three adult couples and stayed at Suzie & Mike's fabulous gite for a week. The gite is up a flight of stairs, on the first floor and has been renovated to a really high standard. The bedrooms are large and private with plenty of storage, all having large en-suites with excellent shower enclosures.
There are two balconies, one enormous and the other plenty large enough for six, both with the fantastic views to the south. The kitchen / lounge / diner has everything you need, even UK terrestial TV, for those who can't bear to miss the F1 !! There are also cool boxes and shopping bags, with two supermarkets (Intermarche & Carrefour) just this side of Puylaurens, along with reasonably priced diesel / petrol.
The pool is very large and has plenty of loungers and parasols, with great views to the Pyrenees.
After reading previous reviews, we decided to try Suzie's cooking and Mike's maitre d' skills. Wow, we all thought the whole meal, with plenty of wine, was brilliant. So just had to do it twice more ! A BBQ is also available, which we used a couple of times.
Suzie and Mike told us of a few walks, but we did like the circular one from the house, which takes about an hour.....if you like a challenge, it can be power-walked in 40 mins.
The hamlet of St-Sernin-Les-Laurens has no restaurant or bar, but the property has plenty of room to lose oneself and boules is on hand to have an excuse to walk around the gardens.
There are some splendid towns to visit....Suzie and Mike gave some that I'd missed (eg Soreze), with Carcassonne being a highlight.
There's a good lake with amenities (St Ferreol) about 20 mins away, which can also be walked around in about an hour.
We had a fantatic holiday, made all the more pleasurable with Suzie and Mike's hospitality and friendliness.
