Holiday Home Bellevue - Wonderful Bellevue - A Home from Home

Summer holidays at Glorious Bellevue, a real 19th Century gentleman's House and Home! This summer home is available for periodic rentals to appreciative guests - those who know a good thing when they see it. Wonderful Bellevue' House and Gite stand calm and confident in their own parkland on the edge of the ancient town of Graulhet, formerly the centre of the French leather crafting industry. The House has seven comfortably furnished double or twin bedrooms and the Gîte can sleep three or four. If it opens or shuts or works by electricity, it will be found in the House and most importantly Bellevue has been the site of many happy weeks and months of relaxation for friends, family and guests - new friends - alike.

Summer holidays are a breeze and a pleasure at Bellevue's super, self-contained apartment, which is attached to the main House. We are sure that it is comfortable and fully functioning, having ourselves stayed there for two consecutive months. There are in reality three rooms to the apartment plus a shower room and lavatory. Your fully functional kitchen has a normal gas cooker with oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, electric coffee maker, toaster, electric kettle and all the pots and pans and dishes and plates that you are likely to need. The Gite has its own terrace with table and chairs and parasol. You also have a small barbecue but you will probably be able to use the big barbecue, opposite the swimming pool. This a a great Gite - far better than many others we have seen. Please try to bring a large bath towel for each person as supplies can become limited, at times.

Summer holidays in this truly great house puts you at the centre of things while the house's grounds give the feeling of being unbothered by the world. If you crave peace and quiet then you have it but within 30 minutes there are now five championship golf courses and - closer still - you can learn to fly, paraglide and do all sorts of aeronautical wonders. The 'county town', ALBI ,is down the road and anyone would find that very old city a delight, whether you are a history and architecture buff or not. If your thing is fine art then take a gander at the Goya collection in nearby Castres and picture-book Lautrec - one of France's heritage villages that boasts gardens by Le Notre and others is on the way. You can't be bored here ....sorry, it's not allowed.

We have never had a case of chronic boredom at Bellevue because there is so much to do and to see. If golf is your sport then within 40 minutes of Bellevue you will find four championship golf courses that will be ready to welcome you. Bring your clubs - its worth it.

A SUCCESSFUL AND SATISFYING HOLIDAY

This place was super clean, well equipped and very comfortable. These people are big hearted, multi-talented, attentive to people's needs and they run a great operation. Having been to many places in France this turned out to be better than we expected and a pleasure from start to finish. Nothing was too much for these people and we left with no little regret at not being able to stay longer.This years we have been staying in Perpignan but drove from there to Bellevue just to spend a few hours with the man who has become a good friend. It seems we are not the only members of his fan club since a few days before some other former guests - now friends - had driven from Avignon to see him. Anyone who were not satisfied with their stay at Bellevue would probably not be satisfied anywhere. Would we recommend it? Certainly. Will we return? Undoubtedly, if they will have us. Well done and thank you !

Going to stay in someone else's home - as is the case when people come to Bellevue - is not the same as taking a short term let of a functional and purpose built flat or even of a sensitive cottage barn conversion. We are not clinical and commercial and this shows through in our approach to receiving people here and of course throughout their stay with us. People trust us with their valuable holidays and we trust them with our goodwill, our time and our efforts at making their break what they want it to be. Letting them be, being 'there' but unintrusive is essential to their being here, we feel. When we read this sort of review we think that we must be doing something right....
