The house is on the edge of the village with small garden and two terraces. The village has typical French shops and supermarkets, a public swimming pool open in the summer only and a small cinema, all close at hand. Close by are lakes and the river Tarn with its many tributaries. Master bedroom has en-suite bathroom with shower facilities, bedroom 2 has en-suite shower room, other 2 bedrooms share shower room.

The region has many gorges with rivers such as the Sourgues, Cernon, Dourdou, Rouce and Tarn, many with steep wooded hillsides, making it a wonderful area for trekking, horse riding and fishing. There are also lakes to visit, lake Paraloup being one of the largest in the region where water sports and fishing can be done. The scenery is stunning and changes rapidly from hills to plateaus to farmland as you travel along the riverbanks or climb the hills. The famous Roquefort Cheeses are made in the commune of Roquefort-ser-Soulzon near Millau were the Millau Viaduct, the tallest bridge in the world graces the skyline. A very varied landscape with historic venues makes it a delightful area to visit

Additional information about rental rates

  • Short stays and weekend breaks welcome. Charges are Euro 50 / room / night for en-suite bathroom and Euro 40 / room / night share bathroom on a Bed and Breakfast basis. A supplemental charge per day will be applied during the winter months for heating.
  • Longer stays can be arranged and are negotiable. A supplemental charge will be applied during winter months for use of the oil fired central heating.
  • Bed linen and towels supplied. 30% total rental fee payable on booking, the remainder of 70% eight weeks before start of holiday, plus a damage / breakage deposit of Euro 250 repayable within 2 weeks of end of the holiday stay provided that no damage or breakages have occured.

Golfing: Golfing can be found at Albi, a championship 18 hole course at Lasbordes with its own Chateau and restaurant facilities. Two other courses are also available at Aigueleze and Florentin. Rodez also has an 18 hole course at du Grand Rodez. Both Albi and Rodez are 35 min drive through spectacular countryside.

Historic venues and scenic countryside: There are many historic venues within striking distance such as Carcassonne, Albi, Ambialet, Millau, Roquefort to name but a few. The countryside is also stunning with many gorges, rivers and lakes to visit and enjoy. If the Mediterranean attracts you, it can be reaches in approximately 2 hour by car.

Relax in Rural France

The house is easy to find on the edge of Requista on the road to Millau and the facilities are excellent with every amenity including a superb kitchen , elegant furnishings , wifi , barbecue and a garden to dine or relax in. Everything is spotlessly clean and in perfect condition and Anne could not have been more helpful. In Requista the restaurants provide inexpensive but delicious lunchtime menues and fine dining is available in the evening. Every bar and cafe do excellent coffee and there is a superb wine shop in the village also as well as two fine supermarkets. Requista is within easy driving distance from Rodez airport and convenient to Millau , Albi , and the fabulous Tarn Gorges. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to all my friends.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Aveyron is a "lost part of France" in a way, as many travellers pass through but do not stop over. With your recommendation and comments I sincerely hope that it will bring more people here to benefit from the relaxed way of life. With almost every village having a bar or restaurant helping to make that trip to the countryside or Chateau, lake or river gorge a little more memorable than the last.

The Perfect Visit.

Dear Anne,

I just wanted to say thank you and tell you how absolutely wonderful it was to stay with you. The room and bathroom were comfortable and meticulous, the house and dining a total pleasure. Having access to WiFi which worked without fail was a great help. It simply was - as I said - the perfect visit.

I look forward to my next trip to France and when I do if I am coming anywhere near Requista, I would go the extra mile - or should I say kilometer - to stay again with you.

Please do recommend to others who surely would love to enjoy the beauty of Aveyron for activities abound, including walking, fishing, canoeing or swimming in the tarn or boating or swimming in the nearby lakes. The area has several good golf courses as well in nearby Albi or Rodez to mention a few. Or just relaxing with a good meal and a glass of wine in the local bars in Requista or nearby villages with their own restaurants, bars and Chateaus that take you back in history of days gone by.
