La Sagesse is located in the beautiful Lot Valley, a mere 15 minutes drive from the cathedral City of Cahors. Brouelles, with superb views of oak and walnut laden hills, is a village of natural, idyllic beauty. The house has been exquisitely restored and equipped to the highest standard. The surrounding area is a delight in all seasons and offers you a variety of country walks and cycling. The hills are home to a variety of fauna, including deer, woodpecker, kites and butterflies. Summers are deliciously warm and any season is perfect for exploring fascinating sites in and around the Lot and Dordogne.
The region abounds in medieval towns and villages. Many are built into the rock faces of cliffs that overlook the majestic River Lot. Other opportunities for sightseeing include chateaux, fortified towns and scenic trekking routes. In summer there are fetes close by of every description, from horse fairs to garlic fairs and wine markets to bric-a-brac. Active visitors find interest and excitement in boat trips on the Lot and Dordogne rivers, fishing, canoeing, swimming and horse-back riding.
Back at La Sagesse you can dine outside on the south-facing terrace, or around the vast, walnut dining table that captures the flavour of the traditional French kitchen. The south-facing terrace has ample patio furniture for relaxing and sunbathing and overlooks the 10m x 5m swimming pool and paddling pool for toddlers. A covered area has a large table with chairs to seat 12+ and a barbecue is provided.
The property is on three levels:-
Ground floor: Dining room with large table seating 12+; highchair. Kitchen with wall oven, cooker, dishwasher, two fridges, freezer and microwave. Single bedroom with shower, wash-basin and WC. Lounge with large feature fireplace and wood-burning stove.
First floor: Bedroom with 1 double. Two twin bedded rooms, each with adjoining lounge area. All three rooms have their own shower, wash-basin and WC.
Lower ground floor: Double bedroom with bath,wash-basin and WC. Second bedroom with double and single beds, shower wash-basin and WC. Door to the exterior.
All rooms are equipped with electric heaters and electric fans.
