This renovated hillside historic stone building gave its name to the village of 'Tour de Faure'. It offers both spacious accommodations and modern comfort, combined with traditional elegant simplicity. The attached tower dates back to the 13th century and overlooks the villages of Tour de Faure and St Cirq Lapopie. Build on the outskirts of the village , this property offers both outstanding privacy and silence. Each bedroom has a spacious shower and individual sink. The fully appointed gourmet kitchen is equipped with all the modern appliances, including gas cook top, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, mixer, washing machine ,etc. The bright living room and dining room offer both space and intimacy. A small private reading room is available in the tower, providing a comfortable corner for reading and meditation. Outdoor privacy also is guaranteed, as the inside court is surrounded on all sides. The property is equipped with central heating, and is thus available for rental all year

Just across from the medieval village of St Cirq Lapopie, in the middle of the Regional Natural Parc des Causses du Quercy is the quiet village of Tour de Faure. The Lot Valley is one of France most picturesque, and it always feels like time stopped here many years ago. The region is rich with historical sites, generous gastronomy, unpretentious but elegant wines, natural resources and most of all the friendly and welcoming inhabitants. The world famous painted cave of Pech Merle is only 10 minutes away, while the famous sites of Rocamadour, Padirac, and many others are all within a 100 km radius. In late fall and early winter, the famous Black Truffle market of Lalbenque is only a short 30 minutes drive away. Between hikes, bike rides, nature trails, river cruises and a rich and diverse artistic tradition there is a great variety of activities to fill a relaxing vacation, while resting in the shadow of a tower that was build long before Columbus sailed to discover America!

Winter rentals: For rentals in winter months, the central heating fuel consumption for the rental period will be charge in addition to the rental price.

Perfect spot to stay for a family

We are a family living in Southern California, USA and we have been touring the world for many years always looking for the perfect spot to stay when exploring new regions. While we love to visit different parts of Europe, we always prepare ourselves to downsize our expectations for available lodging space (hotels, apartments, etc.). This particular place offers plenty of space, bathrooms, living/family room, kitchen and to top it off, it's a unique historic castle-like building (completely renovated with all modern amenities) - truly romantic and offering plenty of countryside charm. The valley of the river Lot is really beautiful. We made this place our base for exploring the entire area of the Midi Pyrenees in the Lot department. You can take tiny back roads to get to all the many historic destinations (GPS navigator recommended for your car!) in the area. Perfect also for biking and fishing. History buffs will love it, too.
The owners lived in the US for many years before and know what Americans expect as far as comfort, convenience, etc. goes. They speak excellent English and are very helpful in answering all the extra questions/wishes.
We very much enjoyed our stay (we stayed there during the winter months - spring/fall must be even nicer!) and would highly recommend this jewel to other families.
