A family home. A peaceful house, resting in an unspoiled countryside. Large swimming pool 13x7m -2m at the deep end, equipped with an alarm sensor. Sleeps 6. Set on the edge of a woodland on one side and on an orchard on the other, there, one can loose the notion of space and time. It is simply beautiful quiet and unique and offers complete privacy. The position of La Peyriere Haute enables visitors to relax and enjoy perfect holidays. The pigeonnier with its 9 window-arcades and high ceiling (7 meters) throws you into a dream world. At night the crystal skies shine with thousands of stars. They look so bright, so near one can almost touch them away from any visual pollution..It is quite a secluded property. The nearest neighbors are some 300metres away. There is nearby (5km) a nice lake and also a horse riding school. It is also possible to buy your 'Produits du terroir' from close by vineyards for the wine of Cahors, Cheese, Pâté from market days + information, photos upon request

Valprionde is situated in the beautiful and peaceful unspoilt Lot region in south France. It is about one hour from Toulouse international airport. The location is surrounded by fields, is calm and ideal to relax and enjoy real holidays away from the hassle and bustle of urban centers, noise and stress. The house is very close to Montcuq a typical French village with cafés and great atmosphere. On market days one could imagine himself some two hundreds years ago. The dungeon of the village is from the 12th century. It has from over the top a breath taking view. Just imagine what the up above sentinel 800 years ago would watch, see, and dread!

We drove 800 miles to stay, and we couldn't have been happier when we met the very friendly and helpful owners, it was everything we wanted as a weeks getaway, The house had a very warm feel to it and the third bedroom is the quaintest room you could ever imagine, it is a great area for doing as we all do and tasting ALL the local wines from the region and the fabulous fresh produce from the markets. I would do the 1600 mile round trip again to stay.

An idyllic location

My wife two daughters and I stayed in summer 2008 after having travelled by Motorail from Calais to Toulouse (highly recommended). Our holiday here was restful, peaceful and enjoyable. The pool was a definite boon and well maintained. Montcuq was only 15 minutes drive away and provided all types of shops and services. The owners were friendly and approachable and assisted us if we had any queries, though to be honest these were few. The weather we had was warm and it was great to BBQ outside into the evening, with no noise or light pollution to distract us.
The property was a great location from which to explore the area; Cahors, Villeneuve and many other wonderful towns and villages with their cafes and markets. Whilst we were here there was a spectacular thunderstorm which we were able to watch outside whilst sheltered; quite an experience! The accommodation was quirky yet comfortable - to be honest we spent most of the time outside reading, playing, barbecuing and swimming.
To summarise, definitely a "get away from it all" place. Peaceful, tranquil and restful.
