Large and quite grand, this house is 200 years old and comprises: a large entrance hall with a sweeping walnut staircase leading to the Minstrels Gallery – a quiet place to read. Well fitted and equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. Very large living/dining room with a huge stone fireplace and Godin woodburner. Bedroom 1 has a 5ft double bed and ensuite bathroom. Two further bedrooms, one with double bed, the other with twin single beds) in the house share another bathroom. In addition bedroom 3 leads out to a large roof terrace, surrounded by a stone balustrade overlooking the village. Just across the road, there is a large garden with trees and shrubs with a walled off 9x4m swimming pool, barbeque, poolside furniture, terrace and inside the pump house there is a WC and handbasin, and a small fridge for cool drinks by the poolside.

St Géry is situated in an area of specific natural beauty, The 'Parc Naturel Regional des Causses du Quercy', on the banks of the River Lot. Only 19km from Cahors St Géry has easy access to many historic towns in the region including St Cirq Lapopie (12km) and Rocamadour (56km). The immediate area hosts a large variety of wildlife, including deer and wild boar as well as a thriving bird population featuring many fascinating birds of prey. To the West of Cahors there are many famous vineyards who produce the famous 'Black Wines' of the region, many of which are open to the public for tasting sessions and tours. The pre-historic Grotte de Pech Merle is only 10km from St Géry, close the River Célé, a tributary of the Lot.

We have stayed in a great number of properties in France over the years. The Old Notaires House had everything it promised. Large,very clean and comfortable. Well equiped and most of all, as the weather was not so great in April, wonderfully cosy with the wood burning stove. The restaurant across the road provided exeptional food and very good service. We would not hesitate to recommend it to our friends. Thankyou to Dave and Kate
