Maubourguet - Trie sur Baise area holiday house

This is the best holiday property we have ever rented. We've travelled around the UK and France with friends quite a bit, and believe me we have had a mixed bunch, but there was nothing to fault at Les Arbres. The description was accurate, the property was spotless and well maintained and the owners were extremely friendly and helpful. They left a real 'Welcome pack' not just a bottle of wine but a proper starter pack of basics. The property really will sleep 10 and that doesn't mean on sofa beds - there are two double bedded rooms and three with two twin beds in each and the rooms aren't tiny either. There’s a full bathroom, a separate loo, a shower room with loo and the master bedroom has basin and shower. The kitchen is well equipped and again has enough crockery etc. for 10 people and what is more it even matches, which in France is quite unusual ! There is plenty of casual seating and a huge dining table.
The terrace is partly under cover and has enough seating and tables again for ten and there are loads of loungers, some on the terrace and some by the pool.
We talked about having a table tennis tournament but were lucky with the weather and there was so much else to do and see.
We loved the area and the town. Best local things - the small but very good market in the town, the local food factory shop (foie gras, confit de canard, etc.) and the 3Bs restaurant.
The house is well situated for a mixed holiday of countryside and trips to the mountains. Try the local Madiran wine and a trip to Marciac (eat at Le Petite Auberge) even if you aren’t into Jazz. Lourdes is interesting even if you aren’t religious and the mountain passes are great. We barely scratched the surface of things to do in a week.
Oh and the sunrises at the house are breathtaking.
