A newly refurbished, stunning 8 person apartment in a historic listed building with courtyard. The apartment is in the centre of Cauterets, a lively mountain town. It is a 5 minute walk to the ski lifts. 2 large double bedrooms with wardrobes, 1 ensuite with Jacuzzi bath. Separate bathroom with shower. Bunk room with 2 bunks, sleeps 4, plenty of clothing storage areas and with wall mounted LCD TV with Play Station 2 and 4 wireless remotes. Large living room with contemporary wall-set electric fire, large flat screen LCD TV with DVD and stereo and sofas for seating 8. Large fully fitted kitchen and dining room with table and seating for 8. Separate ski lock up. Many of the rooms have stunning mountain views.

Cauterets is a historic thermal spa town at 1000m with its own ski fields at 1800m. Cauterets is set in the Vallee de Cauterets in the heart of the Haute Pyrenees. The Gave (River) de Cauterets runs right through the town and past the apartment. Vignemale (3298m), the French Pyrenees's supreme summit, commands the head of the Vallee. Walks in this area are in abundance, wooded valleys, wonderful lakes climb high passes and scramble up summits. State of the art 8 man bubble lifts take skiers/walkers/ mountain bikers up to the ski station in under 10mins (NEW 2005). Cauterets also has a cross country ski domain. Cauterets is just 20km south of Lourdes, the famous religious town with its Basillica and holy water. Flights to Pau, 40kms from Cauterets, direct from Stansted are available daily and twice daily in the summer. Car hire recommended to make the most of the area - although not necessary as train and bus will get you to Cauterets and once there is plenty to do locally.

All are furnished to a very high standard and have beautiful antique furniture, original oil paintings, high quality linen and luxury duck-down pillows.

Cauterets - Further Information: Cauterets is a fantastic place to stay - Winter or Summer. It is blessed with the best snow fall in the French Pyrenees and has both an alpine ski station and a fantastic cross country set up at the Pont D'Espagne. In the Summer it becomes a walkers paradise, combined with some fantastic mountain biking, climbing, parascending and even ice climbing on the glacier of Vignemale, the highest mountain in the French Pyrenees. The town itself has natural thermal spas, ice skating rink, casino, amusement arcade, public heated swimming pool and a whole host of businesses running just about every mountain based activity that you can think of. The town is also blessed with an abundance of bars, restaurants, shops and markets. So whether you want to eat out all the time or cater for yourself in our fantastic fully fitted kitchen - the choice is yours!

Ski: During the ski season why not come and stay with us on our more inclusive skiing breaks? We will basically look after you from start to finish - meet you and return you to the airport, welcome you into the apartment with a champagne and canape reception, book all you ski school needs, arrange your lift passes in advance, take you to the shop to have your skis and boots fitted, take you up the mountain on Day 1 and make sure you know your way around, book restaurants and be available to help you with anything else you need or want to do during your stay. The apartment will also be stocked with everything you need for breakfasts during your stay. Prepared evening meals ready to heat up upon your return from the slopes can be arranged if ordered in advance of your stay. Other ski activities can be arranged upon request such as night walks, igloo building, off piste trips and day trips to another nearby station. Just wanted to drop you a quick note and thank you for the excellent hospitality that you all showed us last weekend.

We always thought that it was going to be worth the journey to get to Cauterets and you proved this to be true. The endless supply of food and drink, the transportation and the general friendliness all added up to make it a fantastic break.

Spent 3 nights in this fab appartment with the family. Spotlessly clean, excellently equiped ( PS2 , huge TVs, amazing jac bath!)
A home from home! The village is a superb base for seeing in the Pyrenees, Pont d'Espagne, Gavarnie and while we there the Tour de France was near by!!!!
Totally memorable trip...Thanks !
