Stella Plage, Le Touquet is very easy to reach from the UK in order to take that well earned break. From almost anywhere around the M25 the door to door travel time can be less than 4 hours including the crossing. No waiting around at airports, parking fee’s, lost luggage or transfer times. You also have the benefit of having your own car parked outside and as much luggage as you want to bring! Typically a week’s holiday here will cost less than its equivalent in the UK, including the cost of the crossing.
Holidaying in France has always been good value, especially when shopping for food & wine. The quality and choice available far exceed what is usually on offer in the UK, and despite the changes in the exchange rate shopping in France will cost no more than in the UK and offer far more choice and better quality.The apartment overlooks the sand dunes on Stella Plage beach (50m away). It is light, modern and tastefully furnished and is fully equipped for a family or couples holiday.
There is a dining table and living room having seating for several people, CD radio, TV (FR), Video & DVD, and a library of films to keep the family entertained. There is also a TV/DVD/Video in the twin room if you feel the need to pack the kids off to bed early. Outside there are several bars and restaurants within a 10-minute walk, and several small supermarkets, gift shops, a boulangerie, takeaway, & butchers close by. Stella Plage also has a Sunday market in season, which is well worth a visit.
Many couples use the location to recharge their batteries spending time exploring the local area, long walks on the beach, exploring the sand dunes, reading, wandering around some of the designer shops in Le Touquet and generally relaxing, however there are plenty of activities locally to keep any families amused.
The apartment must be left clean on departure. A refundable deposit of £50/€70 may be payable. No smoking inside apartment please.
Other Activities:
Baglatelle theme park at Berk, Aqualud on the seafront at Le Touquet. The Bagatelle theme park is only a 15 minute drive away. Other places of interest include Berck sur Mer, Etaples, Montreuil sur Mer (a walled town several miles inland), Fort Mahon Plage, Le Crutoy, which has a steam railway and some wonderful resturants on the quayside & Le Treport a charming Edwardian style seaside town. The main regional & seaside towns are Boulogne-sur-Mer, Berck sur Mer, Fort Mahon Plage, Lens, Artois, Arras and Saint-Omer. Each of these towns has great historical interesting and sights to absorb. Visit the site of the battle of Agincourt, the museum at Albert, the WW1 museums & battle sites, and the various WW2 museums in the area inc La Coupole and Le Blochouse. There are many excellent rural walks thorugh quaint villages, and just across the border into Belgium is the gorgeous town of Bruges approx. 2 hours away, a very worthwhile visit.
Golf:
The apartment is very close to the famous Golf du Touquet, consisting of two courses, La Forêt & La Mer Course’s. Although personally the golfers amongst us prefer the two courses at Hardelot, Le Dunes and Le Pins, or for an extra special treat, La Belle Dune at Fort Mahon Plage (25 mins away), which is one of the top ten courses in France.
