We have 2 cottages set in the 7 valleys area on the border of Pas-de-Calais and Somme offering everything you could want from a holiday. Only 1 hour from Calais. The properties have been tastefully restored to provide spacious, quality accommodation while retaining their rustic charm. In the peaceful Authie valley in over 5 acres of land. Wonderful beaches are 30 mins away. Numerous fantastic restaurants, leisure facilities and places of interest are all within easy reach. House 1 comfortably accommodates 8, a Z bed can accommodate another person. House 2 comfortably accommodates 6 with a Z bed for 1 more person. Each house has its own access, garden and parking area and neither overlooks the other ensuring privacy. The properties can be rented separately or together.

Cycling through the Villages Fleuris - stop and buy produce direct from farms. Shopping - Le Touquet's designer shops(40min), 'Venice-like' Amiens (1hour), the shopping centres by the chunnel (1hour), Paris (2.5hours), market towns of Hesdin (10min), Rue (20min) and Abbeville (30min) Historic sites - the battlefields of Crecy (5min), Agincourt (30min) and The Somme (1.5hour), the military cemetery Etaples (30min), the secret city at Arras (50 mins.) and the abbey and gardens at Valloires. Music - Le Touquet's music festival, the Sons et Lumieres 'Les Miserables' Montreuil (15min). Great restaurants abound.

  • We charge £30 as a final cleaning charge.
    We ask for £150 as a security deposit which is returned after the holiday less breakages.
    There are duvets and pillows in the house with which you can use your own covers and sheets. Alternatively we can rent you bed linen at £7.50 per bed per week.
    If a daily rate is shown we will accept bookings for any length subject to the minimum stay periods specified. Where only weekly rates are shown, we can only offer bookings for whole weeks from Saturday to Saturday.
  • £150 security deposit required.
  • 25% deposit required with booking, balance at least 6 weeks before rental begins

Notes: The rear of La Maison Verte backs on to the garden of La Maison Jaune but has no windows overlooking that house. Similalry, La Maison Verte is not overlooked at all. Both houses are detached and have separate entrances from the road, their own gardens and parking areas so enjoy complete privacy, but can one can be accessed from the other easily through a gate if a larger party wants to rent both houses. Both houses have their own access to the 5 acre field.

Great place to stay near the Channel Tunnel.
Excellent accommodation and facilities for all the family; lots of toys and videos for the children.
Close to beaches and tourist attractions, especially historic sites from the War,

Would happily recommend and will come again.

The description of the property was just spot on. Very quiet area, perfect for walks with the children. My youngest loved to have the bike to play on in the mornings whilst we prepared for a day out. Good location - we even managed a day trip to Paris. The property was very clean and the bedrooms had a real twist with the pitched ceilings. We would love to return and would like to bring friends to stay at the other property next door. Would 100% recommend.

lovely house in picturesque countryside

La Maison Jaune is a perfect base to explore the hidden delights of the beautiful Seven Valleys region. We spent a lovely week cycling the quiet country roads and making occasional forays to the beaches nearby.
The accommodation is very well set out and was ideal for our two families - felt like we had plenty of room and everything in good order and tastefully done.
From the front of the house we watched thunderstorms and sun chase across the Authie valley - in the courtyard at the back we watched bats and shooting stars long into the evening.
The situation of the house is quiet and relaxing and the large field behind gives a real sense of space and ease.
Excursions to nearby Hesdin and Amiens were very good. The son-et-lumiere on Amiens cathedral a real experience as was a slow boat trip through the Hortillonages canal system.
And a real joy to spend less than an hour in the car after Boulogne for once!

As a large family we rented both the properties and they provided spacious accommodation to get away from each other but with the benefit of La Maison Jaune being more than big enough for us all to sit around the cosy woodburner and share a meal in the evenings.
Both properties were very clean, well equipped and tastefully furnished. They also had interesting and informative literature on surrounding areas.
The houses are in a lovely peaceful area - fantastic for cycling or walking but with Le Touquet, Berck and the quirky Bagatelle all within easy reach.

Great holiday house

This is a lovely eccentric farmhouse within easy reach of lots of interesting things to do. House is made up of a combination of original features and some nice restoration (watch out for low ceilings!).
Surrounding area lovely Hesdin nearest town with lots to offer - would recommend weeekly market. House is also within travelling distance of historic town like Arras and Ypres and beach resorts like Le Touquet.
Owners supplied very comprehensive directions to the house ans for local attractions and were very helpful during the booking process.
All in all a great family holiday home in a lovely area - thoroughly recommended!
