The house is in the centre of a sleepy village of Sorrus near St Josse, and is set within its own private grounds. This converted farm house is tastefully furnished and has a well equipped kitchen including dishwasher, fridge freezer, and microwave. The dining room seats 10. Also an out-door table tennis table, pool table and BBQ facilities. The master bedroom has a Napoleonic Bed c 1791. (The owner is an artist who sometimes resides there (next to the property).

Sorrus is only a 45 minute drive from Euro Tunnel on the A16 (junction 26). The house is 20 minutes away from Le-Toquet-Paris-Plage.(Ideal for the golf courses)–, La Mer Golf course, Le Manoir and Le Foret Golf course are only 30 mins. Merlimont and Stella Plage only 10 mins away. And 5 minutes away from Montreuil ser Mer. Sorrus is a quiet rural village close to St-Josse and is in an ideal position to discover the surrounding areas. Great for cycling, sailing, fishing and country walks. Ideal for children playing on the beach. Amiens with its magnificent cathedral, hortillonages, and excellent shopping is 1 hr away. The First World War battlefields are within 45 minutes travel. There are fine golf courses at around Amiens (30mins) Abbeville (20mins) Belle-Dune (30mins) Le Touquet (30mins) Nampont-St Martin (30mins). The Somme and Bresle valleys have an enormous variety of fishing lakes to suit all levels of fishermen. The Somme Estuary is home to thousands of wading birds too.

Comforts: The large sitting room/gallery is comfortable and decorated with contemporary paintings and has an enormous arts and crafts sideboard. Sky TV. Modern newly fitted kitchen diner seating for 6 with original farmhouse table. The main dining room has large traditional dining table seating 10. The master bedroom has a Napoleonic bedroom suite with en-suite shower-room. Please note that the stairs leading up to the bedrooms may be unsuitable for those with mobility difficulties.

Activities: Apart from all the activities surrounding Sorrus, We have a large safe garden for children to play, which is surrounded by beautiful gardens. Also in the garden is a swing, toy shed, outdoor table tennis table, patio with sun loungers, BBQ area with garden furniture. The surrounding area is excellent for cycling so bring your bikes, if you can.

Places to visit: Le Touquet-Paris-Plage with all the beach activities is only 20 minutes drive away. with golf and sailing activities. Stella Plage and Merlimont sandy beaches are just breath taking. Etaples for its fresh caught fish and its many bars and restaurants are only 10 minutes away too. Market day on Saturday's at Montreuil and Le Touquet is well worth a vist. The Supermarket and petrol station is only 5 minutes away.

Ski: You can sand ski down the slopes of the dunes in Merlomont if you like....!

Golf: There is a Pay and Play golf course 20 minutes away on the Montreuil - Abbeyville road set in the grounds of a chateau. It costs around 25 euros per play and is informal in dress code. Further information can be found on our website, please ask for details.

Fab place, just needs some TLC.

Spent a week here at the beginning of October 2008. The property is huge with the 6 bedrooms and massive lounge, as described. There were only 6 of us staying here, so we had tonnes of space which was great. However a few things really let the property down in my opinion.

The place really badly needed a good clean. It is obviously an old, rustic farmhouse, but the cobwebs, dirt under the sofas, kitchen shelves/drawers/cupboards really were unpleasant. It did feel that it wasn't that well maintained as many lightbulbs needed to be replaced, the tap was dripping/flowing in the downstair loo, lots of china was chipped, kitchen utensils were broken (chuck them out!!!) and some of the electrics were very french, but a little scary!

Our basic conclusion was that the property has so much potential, but badly needs some money spent on it. Whilst none of the above spoilt our week, it just would have made it a nicer experience.

As for Sorrus, it was a certainly a sleepy village, with no boulangerie even, but there were plenty of other villages/towns very close by.

As a final note, we did see this property in a Le Touquet estate agents!! Just a warning if you're booking for next year!!
Owner's Response: We take on board all feedback and appreciate all comments received from our guests. This helps us to improve so our clients can have a lovely stay in our home.

If customers have any issues during their stay we have an agent on hand to deal with any queries or problems. If we are not advised we cannot respond.

The house is not for sale.

All the issues that have been raised have been dealt with. A new kitchen has been fitted, all crockery and utensils have been replaced. Tap is no longer dripping. The house has been thoroughly cleaned and the relevant people have been spoken to. The owner was away a lot last year and did not get the opportunity to keep an eye on things. This year will not be the same he will be on hand throughout the year to maintain the house.

The electrics are not scary just strange. The main house is a barn conversion and for example in the upstairs rooms the light switch operates a wall socket for a plug in lamp. If the lamp is switched off at the lamp the light switch will not work.

We assure you that you will have a very lovely holiday in our french house. We have just finished our fourth season and have many repeat guests and have had lots of positive feedback.

We have just returned from a delightful family holiday at this property.

Plenty of space for 8 adults and 2 under 4's. The property was clean when we arrived wth the owner now in charge on that front. The new kitchen was good too.

Nice to have a property planned by British owners - enough pillows of the preferred type for once and good sleeps were the order of the holiday!!

We enjoyed Montreuil, Le Touquet, Boulogne and Nausica as well as trips to the bay of the Somme (and narrow gauge railway) and to Thiepval and the 1st world war battlefields/Arras.

Nice fish restaurants at Etaples these days too.

Fantastic farmhouse with great use of space.

We had a great Christmas in this huge warm farmhouse. Easily accomodates 11 people. Brand new fitted kitchen with new equipment throughout. Lovely big dining room with pool table - kept the children happy for hours. Fabulous lounge with roaring open fire. Children loved the two TV areas (mezzanine and lounge well) - perfect for playstations etc. Plenty of space for us all upstairs. Great location only 15 minutes from beautiful LeTouquet and other lovely beaches. Enjoyed the garden and park at rear of house. Had very good contact with property owners who were extremely helpful and even there to meet us on our arrival. Would definitely recommend this house, especially for a large party with children.

Thoroughly enjoyable stay!

We stayed at the property over New Year (27th December-3rd January) and had a wonderful time. The house was extremely spacious, nicely decorated and clean. All the bedrooms were good sized and we could all sit in lounge and dining room with no problem too (11 of us). We ran out of hot water upstairs most days but the downstairs shower always had hot water so this wasn't a problem. The electrics also took some getting used to and we did manage to flip fuse out twice but agent in France and his son were very helpful fixing this-even helping us out on NYE!
Sorrus is extremely sleepy-I think I saw 2 other cars all week! Supermarkets just 5-10 mins away, Le Touquet just 15mins drive.
The house was perfect for us, the photos on web don't do it justice-the lounge, TV and balcolny area is a fantastic space.
I would definitely go back and would certainly recommend this property to others-in fact already have!
