The old vicarage

London family's second home northern France; Old Vicarage probably built same time as Church next door dated 1759. Access from Courtyard (Place du Jeu de Paume) next to Chateau and working farm. Quiet village of 300 people 15 Km/ 20 minutes west of Arras. Brilliant bakery in Tincques (closed Tuesdays). Parking and access

There are 3 parking options: * Outside the front door (owners preference) * Inside the garage (needs fiddling with garage doors) * On hard standing inside garden (garden gates very heavy) Access: + Front door is about 3 feet above ground level so there are steps + Back door has 2 steps down to garden level + Internal staircase from ground to first is much steeper than UK Building Regulations would permit.

Rubbish & recycling

Very different to U K+ 3 categories - BLACK Bag / Bin ; YELLOW recycling bin (no bags must be loose) ; and GLASS bottle bank up at the Mairie The absolute essential concept to take on board is NO GLASS in either BLACK bags or YELLOW bin. The YELLOW bin is really only for paper and cardboard and as that does not rot or smell its no real hardship if you forget to put it out on Sunday nights. Please remember to put out the black bags on Monday nights. Check they don't clink or chink with glass sounds as if the dustmen hear glass they will leave it behind.
