Ground-floor, light and spacious apartment, enjoying breath-taking views over the Dives estuary, with shared outdoor pool. On 2 levels: Large galleried living area has corner sofa (converts to a double sofa-bed), 2 easy chairs, large dining table and 6 chairs, (extra chairs from the patio set can be used if needed), TV/DVD (+DVDs) ; doors to patio overlooking estuary, patio set; open kitchen fully equipped with crockery, cookware and utensils, hob (4 ring), microwave, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine; double bedroom with view out to the estuary; downstairs shower-room and separate WC . Wooden spiral staircase leads up to the spacious galleried-landing , double room, (twin beds can be pushed together), shower-room with WC and master double bedroom overlooking whole apartment and out to the estuary. Reached by easy access on the ground floor from the main entrance or directly from the underground designated secure parking by lift or stairs.

Port Guillaume has a smart, modern marina with restaurants, shops and bar/cafes. Dives, a delightful medieval market town, is 10 mins walk away, with historic old travellers' staging post now a local artists' village. Several superb restaurants and bustling Saturday market. Cinema. Church, founded 1067. Cabourg—seaside holiday town 20 mins walk over footbridge which crosses the Dives estuary and along the promenade from Port Guillaume—casino, crazy golf, indoor swimming pool, restaurants, cafes, cinema, weekly markets (daily in season). Beaches linking Port Guillaume and Cabourg are clean, safe and sandy, supervised by lifeguards, and offer numerous activities in clearly marked zones for safety. D-Day Landing Beaches 16 km away, with Pegasus Bridge closer. Landings museum at Arromanches. Beautiful Honfleur 30 minutes drive away. Bayeux, with its famous tapestry and Memorial Museum of Battle of Normandy within an hour's drive. Famous cider/calvados route also close by.

Additional information about rental rates

  • £100 deposit (per week/LWE) paid by cheque, is required to secure a booking. Duvets, pillows and blankets are provided. Either bring your own sheets, quilt covers and pillowcases, or you can hire them from us at a cost of £8 per person (to cover laundry costs). The balance of your total holiday cost is payable no less than 8 weeks before your scheduled arrival date. If a booking is made within 8 weeks of the scheduled arrival date, then the full price is payable upon booking.

    Cancellations must be made either in writing or by email, for which a % charge of the total holiday cost may be payable, based on the number of days remaining until your scheduled arrival date; over 56 days - paid deposit only,15– 56 days —50% ,14 days or less—100%. NB. We WILL honour a refund of all, bar the deposit, where we are able to take another booking for the week/s concerned.

    Should you wish to move your booking to another week, then we will oblige whenever possible.
  • No less than 2 weeks prior to your scheduled arrival date, you will need to send a refundable £100 security deposit. This will be banked. NB. This is NOT included in the total holiday cost stated. Upon our receipt of the security deposit, we shall post the key and entry code/s and advise you of the designated parking space. We shall also send you an inventory of contents and equipment. The key will be sent separately for security reasons.

    You will also need to confirm in writing by letter or email if you intend to take your own bed linen (sheets, quilt covers, pillowcases), or if you wish to hire them from us, payable at time of security deposit at the latest.

    You are respectfully requested to arrive no earlier than 4.00pm on the day of your arrival and to depart no later than 10.00 am on the day of departure. This is to allow our caretakers time to clean and prepare the apartment (including change of bed linen, where applicable).
  • Our caretakers will conduct an inventory check prior to your arrival and after your departure. Whilst we appreciate that accidents do happen, please note that we reserve the right to deduct any reasonable charge from the security deposit for reported breakages or damage to the apartment or its contents.

    Any deficiencies or damages discovered on your arrival should be reported to our caretaker as soon a possible and by midday of the day following your arrival at the latest.

    Upon return of the apartment key to us, we shall post the security deposit back to you (less any applicable deductions for reported breakages or damages.

    These terms and conditions will be included on paper along with the apartment information we send to you upon our receipt of your initial deposit cheque.

    £25 discount offered for any 2-week bookings, and all return visitors.

Apartment in Dives-sur-mer

This holiday was just what our family needed - a relaxing and peaceful break. The apartment was spotless on arrival and it was spacious and comfortable. Communication with the owners was efficient and professional and they provided lots of information regarding the local surroundings. The apartment is in a great location - overlooking the estuary (we spent most evenings watching the changing tides with a glass of wine) but only a few minutes away from wonderful beaches. Needless to say, most days were spent relaxing on the beach. However, we managed to do a bit of sight seeing - D-Day landing beaches, Bayeux tapestry, Rouen, war museum at Caen and Monet`s garden in Giverny. We were lucky to have glorious weather and our children made good use of the shared pool. This apartment is very good value for money if you are looking for a relaxing break. I have no hesitation in recommending it.

The instructions provided were detailed and the facilities were as described. We would have loved to have had a second key to the apartment; other than that it is highly recommended place to stay! The beach in nearby Cabourg via the footbridge is first class and the street cafes are plentiful in season. Dive-sur-mer and the famous historical connections make it all the more special place to visit. The development of the marina which includes this apartment over the past 20 years has transformed this area into quite a holiday hot spot!! July/August are best months to visit.

Long weekend retreat with extended family

We spent a long weekend in may at port guillaume and really liked it. the owners are very friendly and helpful , the apartment is filled with useful information and everyhting you could possibly need for your stay, it is beautifully decorated and has great views of the tides on the sanctuary. With our 2 little kids it was very easy to walk to the nice white sandy beaches of Cabourg, a nice playground is close, the old Market on saturdays in dives amazing. We would definitely come again!

Very pleased with the experience. Lovely modern apartment very well equipped with a great outlook over the Dives Estuary. interesting walks are in easy proximity to the apartment. The apartment complex is very secure with excellent parking and the apartment is quite in terms of insulation with very little noise from neighbouring units. It is located close to appealing villages, supermarkets etc for travel by car. The apartment is also handy to regional attractions whether located near the sea or inland. We found the apartment very clean and well maintained. Weather in late April was a bit problematic and not conducive to swimming. Would be completely different in warmer weather. Would recommend the property to a friend.

Happy Holiday in Dive

We had a great week this August (2008), the apartment was superb; well equipped, clean and spacious. The view from the apartment was lovely, changing each day with the tides. Apartment is idealy situated for trips to the D Day Beaches and also the lovely towns and beaches of Deauville & Trouville. Fantastic Saturday market in Dives sur Mer, and a great Thursday market in Houlgate, 10 minutes walk away. My children liked the nearby Mini Golf in Cabourg. We had a nice road train ride around Cabourg (at one point some of the local older resident of the town came out and rang a bell whilst waving to the passengers! - we thought it very quaint. We tried all the nearby restaurants and they were all of a very good quality and reasonably priced. We would wholeheartedly recommend this apartment - its of great quality and is in a great location.
