Overlooking the marina, the apartment is a 2 minute walk from a range of bars and shops, and five minutes further to the beach. The apartment is well furnished and fully equipped. Patio doors from the comfortable lounge lead to the garden which overlooks the marina and outdoor furniture is provided. One double bedroom and a bunk bedroom, bathroom with over-bath shower and separate toilet. Ideal for 2 adults and 2 children. There is a reserved off-road parking space. An ideal base for exploring Northern France - Bayeux, The Cote Fleurie, D-Day Beaches, Calvados. Close to ferry ports, easily accessible. The seaside resorts of Cabourg and Houlgate with a wide selection of bars and restaurants are both within walking distance, as is Dives Sur Mer with its colourful Saturday market.

Ideally placed for a holiday in Normandy, this holiday apartment is right beside the modern marina at Port Guillaume where there are a range of shops and restaurants and a fish market next to the quay within a few minutes walk. The sandy beach is 5 minutes further. The lovely old town of Dives Sur Mer, with its colourful Saturday market, shops and cafes, is within walking distance or a few minutes drive, as are the nearby seaside resorts of Cabourg and Houlgate. A little further are Villers Sur Mer, classy Deauville, Trouville and Honfleur, all worth a visit. The historic city of Caen is nearby. The apartment (new in 2006) is in an ideal location for discovering the beautiful Calvados region of Normandy, including the Bayeux Tapestry and the historic D-Day sites and landing beaches of the second world war. The apartment is in easy reach of the Normandy ferry ports being 20 minutes drive from the port of Caen, Ouistreham and about 45 minutes from Le Havre.

Golf courses nearby: There are a number of good golf courses nearby - Caen, Cabourg, Deauville.

Miles of sandy beaches: Within a few minutes walk are the beaches at Houlgate and Cabourg. These beaches have plenty of space for everyone and are never crowded. If you want to explore it's possible to walk for miles along the coast in both directions.

Historic Normandy on the doorstep: The D-Day landing beaches are close by as is the famous Pegasus Bridge with its superb visitor centre. The historic city of Caen is nearby and a little further is Bayeux. If you feel like exploring further afield then Paris is only a train ride away from the station in Caen. The superb world heritage site of Mont St Michel is one & a half hours drive.

The perfect getaway to hide from the crowds, at least in off-peak times. This rental is exceptionally clean and maintained. Facilities are very good combined with comfortable living.
A perfect location for anyone interested in boating as was in our case taking an ex-boating man along.
The property is ideal for the disabled being on the ground floor with easy parking directly outside. We had no problems with our disabled companion.
There are miles of coastline to explore with many local places to eat. For those who like to self cater the town has good shopping facilities and large supermarkets. We would revisit this rental without question.

A little piece of Paradise

This apartment is ideal as a base for touring surrounding areas such as Mount St. Michel and Bayeaux or for just relaxing. After a busy day sightseeing you can lounge on the sofa and look out at the beautiful bobbing boats on the marina - the pink sky reflected in the water.
The nearby beaches are quiet and near to shops and bars if a picnic or lunch time drink is wanted.
Everything from a welcoming bottle of wine to tourist information is at the apartment. Along with cds and dvds and a playstation-(much appreciated by our children!!)
The owners provided us with maps and information before we even travelled there.
Bars, restaurants and take aways are on site. We found these to be quiet but served good food.
We booked a week but I could have stayed forever.

Our stay at Dives Sur Mer Calvados.

This is a new apartment in a new complex. It was very clean and well maintained. Within the complex are shops and restaurants which we used on several occations and found the staff to be very friendly. Our party consisted of my wife myself plus my daughter and grandaughter of 2 yrs. The beaches localy are vast and great for the children. For ourselves we visited a number of museums and sites dedicated to the Normandy landings. Our overal experiance was very good, unfortunately the weather during our stay was very wet and so prevented our little one taking full advantage of the beach.
