VIMOUTIERS, NORMANDY 4 Country Cottages with Pool, Tennis Court and Fishing - Sleeps 10/12, 4/5, 2/4 Les Patis is set among rolling hills and orchards in 17 acres of private gardens. Each cottage has privacy and space. The lake is well stocked with fish. There is a large heated outdoor swimming pool, tennis court, boules, table tennis and play area with horse riding nearby. Just one mile away, the pretty town of Vimoutiers offers shops and restaurants.

Les Bambus (The Bamboo) was newly converted in 2003 within the lovely yellow stone building overlooking the lake. (Sleeps 4/5). It has a private garden leading down to the stream, and a balcony overlooking the lake. The garden has sun chairs, table and chairs and a barbecue. The cottage has two comfortable bedrooms, the master bedroom has a double bed and en suite shower room. It has doors opening onto the garden. The second bedroom, a twin, also overlooks the gardens and has a bathroom beside it. The house sleeps five if required, as the light and spacious open plan landing area has a single bed for occasional use. The main reception room is comfortably furnished , with a studio style kitchen (with dishwasher), large farmhouse style table and sitting area. A door at the end of the living room opens out onto the balcony and lake.

Normandy is a beautiful region of France, easily accessible from the United Kingdom and yet a world away. It is a verdant land of delightful scenery, little colombage cottages nestling in the hills, friendly local people and of course delicious food and wine. The pace of life is slow, long leisurely lunches under a shady tree or in a little restaurant are an integral part of the day. The cheeses of the region are legendary and are named after many of our local towns Livarot, Pont L’Eveque. The village of Camembert is just 2 miles away. The North Coast with its golden sands and elegant seafront promenade is a pleasant drive away.

Normandy Beaches and Bayeux: Our region is steeped in History and holds delights for all ages and interests. The Normandy Beaches of the historical D Day landings are an easy drive from here. Bayeux with its magnificent hand worked tapestry, majestic Cathedral and many restaurants, is less than an hour away.

Monet's Gardens at Giverney and Honfleur: Monet’s House and Gardens at Giverney , though a little further away, are a memorable way to spend a day. Honfleur , with its charming fishing port, surrounded by first class seafood restaurants, is very close. A delicious lunch followed by a stroll around the art galleries, or a sight of artists painting in the streets is all part of the pleasure.

Swiss Normandy and Chateaux nearby: Experience the hot spa baths of Bagnoles de l’Orne in picturesque Swiss Normandy. Visit the Chateau of Falaise , childhood home of William the Conquerer and the beautiful Chateau of Vendeuvre with landscaped water gardens and the largest collection of miniature furniture in the world.

'We've had a great time! Lovely weather, lots of facilities, loads of swimming, tennis and especially fishing (we all got into the sport after nearly catching a huge carp!) One of the best family holidays ever. Hopefully coming back next year. Very sad to leave!' Vickers Family from Cambridge

Absolutely fantastic set of gites.
Clean, friendly and quiet.
Mark and Nicola made this holiday very welcoming and our stay loads of fun.

We traveled with 3 children aged between 2-14 and all really enjoyed themselves.
Lots to entertain and the small village of Vimoutiers is only a 15mins walk.

Only down side is the heated pool could have been warmer, took a lot to get in and my two year old absolutely refused, though she did enjoy the tennis and other activities.
