Charming chalet -Normandy Coast- WALK TO THE BEACH -Perfect for Family Holidays

With the winter blues setting in in January 2010, we looked for a holiday for us and our 2 young children, after going through lots of different properties, we set our heart on this one.....Unfotunately it was already booked for the dates we had available in August 2010, so we booked it for 3 weeks in August 2011. 18 months later we set off during this time all questions and information were superbly provided by Amanda, When we arrived it was ideal, it had everything we needed and the children settled in straight away, the eldest found the play station and the youngest a pirate ship. The beach is a short walk away and we went there frequently, it is pebbly but we had beach shoes so it was fine. The village is sweet with all the usual shops you would expect and there are a couple of big supermarkets for stocking up which are 10 and 15 minutes away, the further one was open on Sunday, which is unusual. With children it was useful having a washing machine and tumble dryer and it was good having a dish washer as well. With children of 6 and 3, security is always of prime importance and once you are in the property and have closed the gate, then the children are safe and can run around to their hearts content. When the weather is good you can sit on the veranda and have lunch as we did many times and in the evening it was great to relax looking out to sea and watching the sun set. When the weather was a bit iffy we went to a swimming pool which was about 10 kms away and was good value about 15 euros for the family and it had several pools slides etc. In a local park there is a mini assault course which all the family went to every day for an hour of letting off steam and having good fun. To summarise everyone had a wonderful time and nobody wanted to go home, definitely a wonderful holiday.

I have spent my holidays in France every year for the last 15 years. This has been by far and away the best Gite I have stayed in. Clean, superbly equipped, well-maintained and perfect as a base camp or just somewhere to shut your eyes in the sunshine, eat great food and listen to the sea. The beach is a two minute lollop away from the back door...you cant ask for more than that! You have access to bikes, badminton rackets, body boards,games and stuff for the kids too and loads more. The wifi connection is great! I am a keen photographer and made my friends jealous via the internet! I can't recommend this place enough. The owners are well organised and answer questions promptly. We had a fabulous week! Thank you!

It was a nice week in Criel sur Mer. The weather was ok, about 22 degrees. A good temperature to do something. Criel is a quit village with a beach with stones. If you don't like that look for sandy beaches. The chalet is more than ok, but with older children (14 and 17) to small. Otherwise the chalet has a great view and a nice balcony. Eating outside with a view on the sea, is wonderful. Dieppe, Fecamp and Etretat are great places to be. All with all a great week and a nice place to get some rest.
