The village of St Sever has a good variety of local shops including a doctor (English speaking), pharmacy, dry-cleaners as well as the essential food and delicacies for which the region is famous. The St Sever forest is accessible directly from the grounds of the property, with its marketed nature trails and lake to explore on foot, bicycle or on horse-back.
Villedieu-les-Poeles is famous for its copper and brass ware and its bell foundry. Its history dates back to the Knights of St John from King Henry the 1st of England. The weekly Tuesday market is one of the best in the area.
Granville, with its excellent beaches, sailing and fishing port is only 30 minutes drive away from St Sever, with Mont St. Michel, Bayeux with its famous tapestry depicting the Norman conquest of England in 1066, Avranches, Coutances, St Lo and the D-Day landing sites are all in easy reach.
