'Le Chateau du Taillis' our late 11th Century castle and moat is situated in the heart of the Norman Countryside. The 'Tour de Nord ' or North Tower has been refurbished and offers an unusual and unique experience in superb accommodation at a sensible price. Whether you are looking for a romantic break or simply an escape to another time 'Le Chateau du Taillis' welcomes you. The Normandy D Day landing beaches, Bayeux Tapestry are a short drive away. Situated in a National Park, Le Parc Naturel Regional du Cotentin et du Bessin, the Chateau is an ideal base for exploration & relaxation. Also available in 'Les Bohons' Chambre d'Hote (the Main House) are two sumptuous en suite rooms which can be booked individually on a daily basis or together with the Tower apartment for larger guest groups. We will be pleased to discuss your accommodation requirements. A third interconnecting two double bed rooms with ensuite bathroom will also become available shortly.

'Les Bohons' Chambre d'Hote in the main house offers guests two superbly appointed and spacious ensuite rooms. Both rooms are located on the first floor (stair access) and have a double bed and single bed. The rooms are available throughout the year with no minimum stay period and can be combined for larger guest groups with the Tower into a single booking. Guests have full access to all our facilities. Our tariff includes continental breakfast.

  • SPRING AND SUMMER PERIODS: Please note that rate is based upon two persons. A supplement of £20.00 per night is applied to third person occupancy. For single person occupancy the rate is £35.00 pounds per night. AUTUMN AND WINTER PERIODS: Please note third person occupancy supplement of £15.00 pounds per night is applied. Single person the rate is £30.00 pounds per night. Guests should be aware that although they have access to the main lounge at all reasonable times the basis is bed and breakfast accommodation and not a hotel basis.
    PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PRICE SHOWN IN POUNDS IS ALSO PAYABLE IN EUROS BUT AT A EURO VALUE TARIFF SET BY OURSELVES WHICH DOES NOT TAKE ACCOUNT OF FLUCTUATIONS IN EXCHANGE RATES OF ANY OTHER WORLDWIDE CURRENCY. The euro tariif will be provided upon request or to clients enquiring from other than the UK and Channel Islands.
    EXTENDED STAYS: We will be pleased to offer a discount rate for stays over 7 nights. Please contact us for details.
  • BOOKING AND CANCELLATION POLICY:
    Guests making a booking of less than four nights will be required to pay the full balance unless it is being rented as part of a large group package with the tower apartment in which case a deposit will be calculated based upon the total balance, or otherwise by our agreement to pay upon arrival. Guests making a booking for four or more nights will be required to pay a NON REFUNDABLE deposit of 25%. BALANCE PAYMENT WILL BE DUE UPON ARRIVAL.

Guests at 'Le Chateau du Taillis' have access to our 30 acres....Fields bounding the 'Marais', wooded and landscaped grounds and a three acre trout and carp lake. (Rod hire available). The 'An Tobar' Pub-Brasserie with moat terrace and open log fire on the South side of the Chateau walls provides a friendly and relaxing retreat for our guests. Occasional activity events in the Chateau grounds such as Petanque (French bowls). Croquet and Ball Trap (clay pidgeon shooting) are available or can be arranged for our guests. Cycle hire is also available.

The 'Tour du Nord' (Tower suite) is ideal for a main holiday, get away from it all or, a special occasion break. Meals including dinner are available to order in the 'An Tobar' Brasserie in the South Chateau Wall. Special Occasion/Celebration or Romantic dinners can also be arranged.

Well what can I say such a relaxing peaceful break , completley chilled . Adele, Chris & Gary such great host they make you feel really welcome , nothing to much trouble. Will be going back this year. Thanks very much for all your hospitality. Such a great place to stay would recomend . I have even posted the web address on my Face Book . Hope to see you all soon. Great Holiday

This was our first holiday in France (Normandy) so didn't no what to expect. The Apartment was great, light and airy overlooking the nice size pool.The chateaux was lovely and peaceful, the hosts were "THE BEST" made us very welcome couldn't do enough for you. Excellent evening food served at the onsite Bistro/Bar. Great time fishing with my 8 year old son in the big lake. Superb location to explore all of Normandy. It was that good we have booked to go back same time in July 2009
