Our Gite is situated in the hamlet of Condé sur Sarthe (Department 61 - L'Orne) on the outskirts of the historic town of Alençon and at the base of the Foret d'Ecouves La Guépinière dates to the 15th/16th century. Once a hunting lodge serving the local gentry at the nearby château. The Gite has been recently renovated to an extremely high standard by local artisans and offers luxurious accommodation - the original exposed beams are a striking feature. The accommodation comprises a large beautiful oak kitchen, bright lounge dining room with satellite TV etc. The gite comfortably sleeps 7 people in 3 large bedrooms - 2 double bedded rooms and 1 with 3 single beds. A cot & high chair can be provided if required. There are 2 luxury bathrooms (one en-suite). Outside the property is surrounded on 3 sides by our fields and we have a stunning walled courtyard garden and another large garden with an 18' diameter heated swimming pool (closed from October to beginning May).

Nearest Ferry: Ouistreham, Caen at 75 Miles
Nearest Train: Alencon at 3 Miles
Nearest Motorway: A28 at 3 Miles
Nearest Beach: beach at 75.0 Miles

Situated about 3 km from the historic town of Alencon which boasts 3 weekly markets and is famed for its lace. There are many restaurants, cafes, bars and 2 nightclubs. It is a 2 minute drive from the nearest large supermarket. The boulangerie is a 5 minute walk through the lanes. There is an indoor and outdoor swimming pool 5 minutes away, two 9 hole golf courses within 10 minutes drive, & an 18 hole course about 30 minutes drive. A bowling alley, ice skating and the magnificent Forest d'Ecouves is equally close to enjoy walking, riding and much more besides. Le Mans is approximately 35 minutes away by car and hosts the 24 hour Endurance Car Race, Classic Car Rally and 24 hour Motor cycle race amongst other events.

Notes: Wheelchairs can access the downstairs but unfortunately there is no lift access to the bedrooms. The elderly are more than welcome. We can possibly accommodate B&B at short notice. We offer secure parking for clients vehicle whilst on the property as it is enclosed by electric gates that are only operable by a remote control.

Children's Safety & Enjoyment: Children are extremely secure on the property as the entrance is secured by electric gates and these are permanently locked. We are more than happy for children to play in the back fields provided they do not go into any field being used by our horses. We have a swimming pool for the enjoyment of our guests. Any children using the pool must have parental supervision at all times.

A special cottage in a central loaction - with access to so many places of interest; or for just a relaxing day in the pool garden.

Anne & David are so friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble.

A very high standard of accommodation - excellent facilities. Anne & David have thought of everything!

BEST Gite in France

As a matter of policy our family never revisits a holiday location for fear of disappointment.

However, we have come back to La Guepiniere four times and every time it is even more enjoyable. This is, without doubt, the BEST gite in France.
