Photos and Description of this Falaise holiday cottage
A quiet self-catering rental that sleeps 7 near a small village

Le Coisel is an old blacksmith's cottage, parts of it hundreds of years old, laid out on one level in the heart of the quiet Norman countryside. The large lounge retains all the original features including oak beams, a terracotta floor and a generous stone fire place. The kitchens and bathrooms have been upgraded to a modern standard that retains the charm of the original without compromising comfort and convenience.

The cottage is situated in a quiet lane about 300m from the little village of Crocy which has its own general store. There is parking for several cars and areas in the garden for sitting or barbecuing. Crocy is 7km away from the market town of Falaise and 30km south of Caen.

An ideal place for a restful break or summer holiday with a garden for children to play in or for sitting and relaxing. We even have a petanque pitch so it will be ready if you fancy a game of boule before dinner.

A wonderful time had by all

Review Submitted: May 7, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
We have just had a very enjoyable second stay at the Old Blacksmiths. The cottage is very comfortable and has a home from home feel even with kids running around!
Very well equipped - kids enjoyed the bikes! While we enjoyed the sunshine in the beautiful garden.

Highly Recommend

Review Submitted: February 26, 2011 Date of Stay: July 2010
We highly recommend Le Conseil as your base for a visit to Normandie. The house is immaculate, spacious, comfortable and stocked with everything you could want. The petoncle pitch in the back yard provided enjoyable entertainment at the end of a busy day of touring. We thoroughly enjoyed our walks in the small village and our numerous bike rides into the country. The bikes were new!! Even my 80year old dad was able to bike the country roads. Arthur and Carol have made sure that you will be comfortable and have provided lots of information to help you plan your outings. Falasie, Caen, WWII cemeteries, farmer’s markets.... so much to see. Directions were easy to follow and check in and check out was very smooth. Pictures and description are accurate. An excellent choice.

Cozy and Comfortable

Review Submitted: May 21, 2010 Date of Stay: May 2010
We loved our stay at Le Coisel! The cottage is spacious, cozy, comfortable and oozes with charm. It is well-stocked with supplies, both in the kitchen and bathrooms. The location is absolutely beautiful! We enjoyed all the farm animals grazing outside and loved the peace and tranquility of the setting. Le Coisel is in a great location, as it is close to the lovely, historical town of Falaise and within a reasonable driving distance of many historical, spectacular sights in Normandy. We took day trips each day, and returned to cozy Le Coisel in the evening. Our two children, boys that are ages 12 & 15, also enjoyed the cottage and were happy we stayed there.

Unique country accommodation

Review Submitted: November 17, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
We were 3 adults and 3 children and we all had an excellent time at Le Coisel. Although the cottage is a little out of the way it's not that far to pop into the nearby villages or the fantastic town of Falaise. There are lots of places to visit a little further afield which certainly kept us busy for the whole week. The cottage itself is full of character and we were just happy spending a day there and in the large garden. We would also take nice walks along the almost deserted local country roads. A big thank you for the very warm welcome extended to us even after we arrived well after dark and later than we had planned. Martin G.
