Manche holiday house: Morsalines

My husband and I spent a week in Normandy on a 6 week tour of France. We rented properties at every stop and this was our favorite of our "homes away from home." My favorite thing: the huge kitchen where we spent most of our time. It had everything we needed to make many lovely meals from the local bounty. My husband's favorite thing: being able to see the ocean from the grill in backyard. Such a gorgeous and roomy place to spend a relaxing week. Tom and Antony were very gratious hosts - listen to their advice about things to see and do. We did and we had a wonderful week! Our recommendations in the area. 1. Of course, go to the Normandy beaches and the memorials...very powerful to see in person. The house is a good starting point; it is on the main road that takes you to many of the sites. 2. Take a day trip to see Mont St. MIchel. It is absolutely worth the drive if you have the transportation. 3. Take a walk along the cost near St. Vaast or the walk to the old train viaduct. Like all walks in France, they are dubiously marked, but the owners can show you where to go. 4. If you want a workout and a nice view, head to the top of the tallest lighthouse in France. 5. There's a great restaurant in Barfleur...can't recall the name, but again they will know. Just a word of advice from an American...andouille means something very different here than in the States. Can't go wrong with the mussels and the Nomandy apple cider. Happy travels!

we (Susanne & Christian from cologne, germany) just returned from 10 days of having very relaxing and nice vacations in this very nice house and a wonderful part of the normandie.

we loved the house and the area from the very first beginning and it was just the right place to relax from a tough and stressfull year.

we both especially loved the cosy kitchen, the dinning room with the fireplace ( the TV was not missing!!! :=), if you sit in front of the fire) and the beautiful garden with the view on the bay.

we used the BBQ for two times and everything was just great.

we dit not miss anything, because the house is perfectly well equiped.

all i can say that we both were really sad as the 10 days went over and we had to leave again.

time was flying over too fast.

so we definetly will come back one time.

and a big THANK YOU to Tom and Anthony of being very friendly and nice owners.

And bringing us the firewood!!! =:)

So, in closing i just can say: This house and the area is really the right place for very nice and realxing vacations. for couples, families with children etc.

we have just come back after a weeks stay at this cottage.we found it a very peaceful area,and not very far from the areas that we wanted to visit.thankyou for letting us stay at your cottage we had a wonderful time.also it was very well equipt.we would love to come back and stay again in the not too distant future.
