The coastal village of Morsalines is just within the Naitonal Park of the Marais du Cotentin. The house is on the side of a hill rising up from the village, a few minutes walk from a beach popular for its shellfish. Southward lie the magnificent sands of historic Utah beach, now tranquil and welcoming, and the other D-Day landing beaches beyond. Inland you can explore the winding lanes of the lush green bocage. To the north, guarded by of the tallest lighthouse in mainland France, are more wonderful beaches, near ancient Barfleur with its fascinating Norman history. From the garden you can see the popular, picturesque sailing port of St Vaast, the island fortress of Tatihou and the Vauban fortification of La Hougue. Nearby is Quettehou which has all facilities - banks, shops, restaurants &c. There is a produce market locally every day of the week.
Morsalines is half an hour's easy drive from the channel port of Cherbourg, or about 90 minutes from Caen.
