Our comfortably furnished cottage is situated in a small village, at the end of a driveway, in a very peaceful and delightful setting. Former gate house of the Château it offers all the modern facilities as well as a play area for children, 2 gardens and access to the fields. Only a stone's throw from the sea it is the ideal place to spend great holidays as you can combine resourcing with enjoying a wide range of activities. Being in the 'Parc Régional des marais', a conservation area, the countryside around is home to a rich and varied wildlife. One of the other attractions of the Cotentin's peninsula is its coastline; intimate coves, rock pools, high cliffs, dunes, long sandy beaches; you will always find a sheltered spot for swimming, sun bathing, fishing, walking, exploring, bird watching...It is close to historical sites as Barfleur, St Vaast la Hougue, the 'Landing Beaches' (10 miles from Utah Beach), 'Bayeux Tapestry', (45 minutes drive), 'Mont Saint Michel' (2 hours).

Aumeville-Lestre is situated between Saint- Vaast-La-Hougue (5 miles), a picturesque fishing harbour with a marina and and Montebourg (5 miles). When arriving from Cherbourg or Caen on the National Road RN 13 , exit in MONTEBOURG. Take road D42 towards QUINEVILLE, QUETTEHOU. At the crossroad (about 3 miles), turn left on D14. Just before the entering sign: 'AUMEVILLE-LESTRE', turn right towards the sea. At about 100 yards on your left, take the entrance with the blue gate and follow the driveway. Your gite is at the end on your right. Well done and welcome!!

on a adoré ce gite. tout y est prévu pour des vacances sereines : l'air de la mer, les arbres, le calme, l'espace, les belles matières, une literie très confortable, tout l'équipement de la maison, des livres pour se délasser au coin du feu ... tout est super propre et fonctionnel, avec le charme et l'originalité en plus. pour les enfants (15,7 et 6 ans), c'était le paradis : un petit gout d'aventure en toute sécurité. malgré le crachin (normal, en février !) ils ont surtout joué dehors entre balançoire et un super manège qui tourne ... en fait, une fois posés là-bas, plus tellement envie ni besoin de bouger ... on aurait aimé rester plus longtemps.

They can spend very quiet holidays away from it all but it can also be a paradise for children combining adventure and safety. We are happy to share such a special place with them.
Being a bilingual family we love discovering other culture and over the years we have built some strong links with some our "holiday rentals" guests to the point of exchanging children for linguistic trips!

Ein Paradies im Contentin/Normandie

In diesem schönen Ferienhaus haben wir zwei sehr entspannte Wochen verbracht. Innen ist es liebevoll eingerichtet und sehr gut ausgestattet, draußen lädt der eingewachsene Garten in schöner Umgebung zum Lesen, Grillen und Wohlfühlen ein. Wer sich gern in der Natur aufhält, ist hier bestens aufgehoben. Die außergewöhnlich netten Vermieter sorgen dafür, dass man sich herzlich willkommen fühlt – diese Unterkunft können wir für den perfekten Normandie-Urlaub nur empfehlen!

Lovely cottage in Normandy

We spend a lovely week at the begining of May in this house. It is an ideal place for sightseeing. Wide range of beaches around also. The house is cosy and practical. The chimney can be quite smokey but gives a lot of heat. The beds are comfy enough and there is enough room to store your belongings. At the side of the house there is a ideal place for small children to play: swing, cars etc. The owners are really very hospitable and can help you finding your way. The seeting outside is very shady wich is nice in summer, but somewhat chilly in spring (and autumn).

A Real Treat

I visited here three times during 2008 , both for a family holiday and with friends for a long week end break.The cottage is superb , the owners now seen as friends and cant be recommended enough !
The description of the property lives up to expectation and the location is great if you like a rural environment.

A little gem

Me and my children stayed here Febuary this year. We really enjoyed our stay, the owners were very welcoming and informative - they even invited us in for a cup of tea!!!
The cottage is well maintained and nicely furnished, really comfortable...the kitchen was well equiped, we cooked in the evenings using the local merchandise from one of the farmers market in the pretty port of Saint vaast, just 15 minutes away.
We went to the beach, rode bikes, had long country walks and felt really energized on our return to the UK.
Would recommend this region of France for a short or long stay, as there is a lot to do in the cotentin, even of season.
Hope to get back in the very near future!!!
