The cottage [la chapeliere] once a small farm house with oak beamed ceilings, large granite fire-place; stone-tiled floor, large-lounge, small adequate kitchen, two good size bedrooms both with double beds. Double bed settee in the lounge, tastefully furnished-decorated, mod-cons- satellite TV, DVD player, books, games, kitchen-micro-oven-washing-machine-etc. the cottage is set in three acres, with lawns, orchard, and large field, ample parking. Set on a hill in a hollow and surrounded by trees makes a tranquil setting to relax and unwind in this countryside setting.

We had a pleasant 10 days stay in Tinchebray. The atmosphere of this house is romantic, cozy, convenient. Thanks to Milos for kind help! Some recommendations: Shopping (Caen or Tinchebray and Flers with some supermarkets); Sightseeing: Bayeux, Mt. St. Michel,Granville - always 45 min drive.

Marvellous location on its own at the end of a lane. One of my boys learnt to cycle in absolute safety. Clean, well maintained and a good size for a family. Marvellous wood fire which heated up the whole house. The owner, Milos, was friendly and welcoming, and overall it was a great experience. We go to France often and this cottage compared favourably to them all. I would recommend this property to any family (4) or couple. I must also say we barbecued most days as the garden was very neat with wildlife plentiful.

If you need peace and quiet then this cottage is the place to go. It is quite small cottage but very cosy and comfortable. It is well supplied with logs by Milos for the wood burner which was really appreciated during the wet and cold week. The kitchen, although very small, is well equipped and the garden is large, private and very pretty. Milos made sure we had everything we needed and checked that everything was OK when we experienced a thunderstorm The cottage is situated deep in the French countryside so it is not a touristy area so be prepared to travel a few kilometres to get to places of interest. Bayeaux and Caen are only an hour's car journey away and the roads are free of traffic so it was pleasant cycling round and about. There are opportunities for walking nearby but a good map is a must for finding out where the paths are but once on the tracks they are well marked. There is an abundance of wildlife around and no light pollution so a wonderful opportunity to stargaze (We just missed seeing the birth of a calf next to the cottage).
Considering the weather was fairly miserable we had a very enjoyable stay and found plenty to do.

Vielen Dank an den Besitzer. Das Haus und der Garten haben viel Charm. Wir haben in den guten Betten wunderbar geträumt und die Ruhe hat den Alltagsstress schnell vergessen lassen.Nie habe ich so viel gelesen. Die Wochenmärkte in der Umgebung sind eine schöne Bereicherung und die Nordküste mit Sandstrand ist in 1 1/2 Std. einen Tagesausflug wert.Wir werden das Haus für alle weiterempfehlen die abseits des Tourismus den Allrtag vergessen wollen.
