A stunning two bedroom town house in the heart of Honfleur- located two minutes walk from the Place Sainte Catherine and the old harbour. A former fisherman's cottage it has been fully restored and now houses an open plan ground floor with fully equipped kitchen, dining room and sitting room with charming inglenook fireplace. The house has two comfortable double bedrooms and a large bathroom with bath/shower. It is tastefully furnished and provides the great combination of a peaceful getaway that is right in the heart of this beautiful old town. The house also comes with an adjoining flat laid out over two floors - with two double bedrooms, showeroom and kitchenette/dining area. This can be rented at the same time if required providing accommodation for 8 if required.

The property is located in the Rue du Puits, famous in Honfleur as home to many of the town's famous artists.Rue du Puits leads into the Place Sainte Catherine , with its picturesque church, art galleries and restaurants. The square also hosts a fabulous weekly market where local produce can be bought. A 100 metres further and you find yourself on the old harbour, where you can browse in the boutiques and art galleries, eat in the great seafood restaurants or simply watch the boats come and go.The town also boasts great tennis courts, a swimming pool and mini-golf - all only 5 minutes from the apartment. Nearby are the chic local resorts of Deauville and Trouville and the rolling countryside of the Vallee d'Auge. For keen golfers, great courses are to be found at Saint Gatien ,Deauville or Etretat.

Keys are to be collected from the Hotel des Loges, 18 Rue Brulee, Honfleur before 19.00h on day of arrival. Bedlinen and towels are provided- though tea towels are not. There is on street parking in front of the house, although this is not dedicated.

Quaint Honfleur Cottage

Honfleur is a charming place to visit and had many restaurants, art galleries and local shops. You can easily walk to all the above from the house. The street is very narrow and cobbled and not suitable to park.

The house was quaint rather than stunning, and did not have two bathrooms. We were led to believe the house had a downstairs seperate toilet, but we were unable to find one !! The stairs are indeed very steep and narrow and had polished irregular wood steps.

The first floor bedroom was fine, and had a wardrobe. The second floor bedroom was accessed via the first floor bedroom, and another set of wooden stairs, and had no hanging space. The bathroom was on the second floor, a long and winding walk from the ground floor. The shower was adequate but had to be held unless you wanted to water the floor area !! I am 6ft 2 in tall and could not stand fully in the shower.

The utilities and furniture in the house were functional and modern although only had one settee, suitable for three adults. There were two small wooden chairs to compensate, and a small dining table with four chairs. I am not sure how eight people could live here ?

Overall, would suit short athletic adults who get on well in a shared living space.
Owner's Response: There are two bathrooms at the property - if both house and flat are rented at the same time - a bath/shower room in the main house and and a large shower room in the flat.

The house is for four people only and the flat accommadates a further four if booked at the same time.

Both houses are former fishermens houses with steep staircases - typical of many in the town which is why we do not recommend it for elderly guests or small children.
