Set in the orchards of a fifteenth century manor house, the 'Laiterie' boasts fine views along the wooded valley of the River Touques in the beautiful Pays d'Auge area of Normandy. This architect-designed conversion of a former dairy incorporates traditional features and building materials in light and spacious rooms. The 'Laiterie' has a large garden of its own and a split-level terrace designed to catch the sun from early morning to late evening. It is an ideal place to relax and is also perfectly located to enjoy the beaches of the Côte Fleurie (Deauville, Trouville, Honfleur, etc.) and the attractive countryside and villages of the Pays d'Auge. Just a couple of miles from the market town of Pont L'Evêque, the property is also within easy reach of the historical cities of Caen and Rouen.

  • One quarter of the rental price is payable upon booking, the remaining three quarters of the total rental price as well as a Euro 600 (or UK£400) refundable deposit to cover damage to property and contents are payable 1 month prior to the start of the rental period.
    For booking of two consecutive weeks, a 10% discount is given on the second week's rental.
    Payment can be made in UK Pounds or in Euros.
  • The rental price is all inclusive (electricity and water consumption, tourist tax, bed linen and towels). Wood for the fireplace is provided free of charge.

The sitting and dining areas can easily cater for 12 people. The downstairs (twin or double) bedroom with adjoining (large) shower room is designed to be wheelchair accessible. The spacious upstairs bathroom is shared by two double bedrooms. The family room (3 beds or one single and one extra large double) has its own shower room, including toilets. The modern under floor heating system downstairs and radiators in bedrooms and bathrooms guarantees comfort even in winter. Double-glazing throughout ensures perfect quiteness. Babies and toddlers: We can provide (free of charge) 2 baby cots and 2 high chairs. All bedrooms are spacious enough to accommodate one baby cot. Babies and toddlers (if sleeping in a cot) do not count towards the maximum of 9 people in the house.

Home assistance and nursing services: A home assistance service provider operates in our area: it offers assistance in daily self-care tasks, such as eating, bathing, toileting, dressing, getting in and out of bed, etc. We can enquire about the cost of the service (about £25/hour) and book it for you should you wish. Home nursing care can also be arranged for you. The cost is variable according to the medical care provided by the nurse (the cost should be reimbursed by the NHS when using a doctor’s prescription). House cleaning services are available at a cost of €20 per hour.

Golf: Saint Julien/Calonne has its own golf course, one of the two Golf Barriere (the other one being in Deauville, at about 15km away) which are considered amongts the most beautiful in France. Both the golf course in our own village and that in Deauville offer an 18 hole (total length of 6 035 meter, PAR 72) and a 9 hole (total length 2 275 meters, PAR 33). Each course features a range of technical challenges to help you improve your play. The golf course in Deauville offers fast greens and difficult roughs (on the 18 hole) and a wooded course featuring real competition holes (on the 9 hole). Both courses are set on beautiful grounds, the golf course in Deauville on the slopes of Mount Canisy, overlooking the plains of the Pays d'Auge and the golf course in St Julien spreading over 90 hectares of listed grounds.

We stayed here from 27th June for two weeks to celebrate our Ruby Wedding Anniversary. The house is excellent - well furnished with good quality linen and towels. We were six adults and three small children and we all had a wonderful time.
The owners were extremely helpful and very approachable. When our grandson was ill they helped us with the necessary medical forms and prescriptions.
We can thoroughly recommend this property to anybody.

We really liked this accommodation

We stayed in this barn with 6 adults (3 couples) and 2 small children. The Laiterie was well equipped, everything in the description was available in the house. The house is spacious enough for 8 adults. You're surrounded by a big garden and the manor house is some 100 meters away so you have plenty of privacy. It's situated on top of a slope and has a nice view.

The village of Pont L'Evêque is nearby (4 km) and has all necessary services like supermarket and bakeries: for the best croissants in France visit l'Epi d'or. Going to the beach is no problem: Deauville and Trouville are nearby. This house is a great place to discover the highlights in this part of Normandie like Honfleur or Caen.

The children liked the big box of Lego, looking at the cows and waving at the occasional trains passing by (2 each hour, they're not noise at all). The adults liked the big terraces with deck chairs. We can recommend this property to anyone.

Just beautiful!

Our family rented La Laiterie in 2008, for two weeks, and loved every minute of it. Karolyn and Simon have thought of everything in terms of furnishings, equipment and supplies, even down to sharing toys and videos with the children.

The fields around the dairy contain herds of cattle (we were there in Spring and their were lots of calves with their mothers) and orchards, and the train to Pont L'Eveque passes through at the bottom of the estate (perfect for waving to passengers!). The village is two hours on the fast train to Paris.

Highly recommended place to stay; cars are essential for touring the area, and there is plenty of parking space. Buy up lots of goodies in town and cook a feast in the very well equipped kitchen (we did). There is an excellent boulangerie/patisserie in town, as well as a hypermarche (if you must).

Open fire, laundry, central heating, wonderful views out the window. Divine!

Fantastic property close to all the best Normandy has to offer. We spent 4 days here with our families (2 families of 4). Plenty of space and the appointments throughout the home are superb!
