A charming 1200sq ft. 200 year old home, fully renovated and beautifully decorated in a seaside theme. The home is in a beautiful and peaceful setting located directly by the sea and a beautiful beach. Ideal for sea-lovers or for visiting the Normandy beaches of D-Day. Walk to the beach (500 m away) , 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, private large garden. Sleeps 6, full kitchen, fireplace, BBQ and patio set. The house is in the town of Vierville-sur-mer located two blocks from the sea at Omaha Beach. The property is situated in the heart of the small town, near to all amenities. Including a bus from Bayeux, France at corner of street. Paris Airport is 250km away, a 3 hour drive even in rush hour. The ferry comes to Caen or Cherbourg. Both less than 1 hour away. A vehicle is recommended to extend your shopping and tourist capabilities, as there is so much to see and do in France, but as a bus is available near the house from Bayeux, which has a train station you do not have to have a car.

Omaha Beach, Normandy, D-Day landing site 1/4 mile away from house. Located at Vierville sur Mer, in a small town with many amenities such as swimming, boating, tennis courts, restaurants and bars, beaches, church, post office, butcher shop, small grocery store, gas station, war museum and German bunkers. Located between beautiful old Bayeux (16 km away) which has large shopping chains and stores, great Church's and the famous Bayeux Tapestry and between the quaint fishing village of Grandcamp Maisy only (12 km away) with a daily fish market. Also only 1/2 hour away from great large shopping areas in the cities of Caen or Carentan. The house is located within walking distance of many D-Day memorials, museums, battlefields and cemeteries. The American Cemetary is 5 KM away and Point du Hoc is only 7 KM away. The German cemetery is 10 KM away. Paris Airport is 250 KM away, a 3 hour drive even in rush hour. The ferry comes to Caen or Cherbourg.

  • Rental rates are per week plus electric
    Rates are as follows: HIGH SEASON - 640 Euro (July and August)
    MID SEASON - 540 Euro (June and September)
    LOW SEASON - 440 Euro (October to May)
    Effective: Check in is on Saturdays. Check in at 3:00 p.m. and check-out at 10:00 a.m.
    Partial weeks are maybe available but only in off season.
    Linens are extra at 16 Euro per bed used, which includes bed linen, and 3 Euro per person for personal linen, such as towels, wash clothes, kitchen linen.

    Housekeeping services are included in the price.

    We accept Cash, International Money orders, European Bank Transfer, Visa or MasterCard.

    A deposit of 150 euro is required for each week to guarantee your booking.

    Small pets may possibly be accomodated at an additional 60 Euro per week

A vehicle is recommended to extend your shopping and tourist capabilities, as there is so much to see in the French country side, but as a bus is available almost directly to the house from Bayeux, which has a train station from everywhere is France, you wouldn't actually need a vehicle. Very near a sandy lovely beach with Restaurants and bars, museums, church, post office and tourist sites all within a few minutes walk.

Our Holiday in Vierville was one of the best holidays we have had in quite a while. The home was very comfortable and had everything to make you feel at home. There was books and games and movies for our use. The patio out back was great for sunning and having a BBQ. We were walked on the beach everyday rain or shine it is only a five minute walk to the chanel it was really great and we would love to go back again. Everything was just great.

The property is comfortable and well equiped. It was nice having a seperate games room for the children. Overall a comfortable and homley place for our summer holiday.

The Beach is perfect and only ten minutes walk away, you couldnt ask for more.

The area is quiet and very rural but Bayeux is only twenty minutes away by car.

The only downsides were that while the outside area is comfortable more could be done with the garden it is a bit overgrown but still very useable. The nesting birds could be got rid of as well.

Though for the money the size and quality of the property were higher than other property we have rented in the area.

Beautiful Location, needs better mainentance

The house is in a perfect location and is spacious with a nice updated kitchen. However, more attention needs to be paid to maintaining the house between visitors, and the maintenance service in charge of taking care of the home was unresponsive during our entire visit. While bed linens and towels were fine, the floors were dirty, there were bird droppings all over the laundry "room," and the patio had not been well swept or cleaned off. The bathroom rug was dirty and we laundered it. While the owners themselves were able to be contacted regarding questions we had, we were unable to make contact with the local maintenance service when we had questions and issues pertaining to the house--none of our phone calls to the service were returned. Vierville is a lovely village with a beautiful beach just a short walk from the house. The convenience store located just a few doors down was the perfect source for delicious bread and pastries, as well as other food and household items.
