Notre Tranquillity is a delightful, airy, spacious house designed for comfort but with special detail to furnishings and fittings to suit the style of the house. The bright sunny kitchen is well equipped with full cooker, microwave and plenty of matching china and glassware. The lounge/diner has comfortable seating and is very relaxing. There are three bedrooms, two double rooms, one with an additional comfortable single folding bed on the first floor sharing a shower room with toilet. On the next level is a large family room with intricate exposed beams, a double and single bed, seating area and en-suite shower room (this room can be isolated allowing the house to be let with two bedrooms for smaller parties to stay in comfort but without having to pay for under-occupancy. The large adjoining garden overlooking rolling hills is ideal for spending time relaxing, has ample garden furniture, BBQ and shady gazebo, there is a utility room with toilet and washing machine.

This delightful, spacious house has been designed to make your holiday comfortable and relaxing, enjoy eating and relaxing 'al fresco' in the spacious garden. There is a television which receives some English programmesa DVD, video player and CD. The house is on three levels with kitchen and lounge/diner on the ground floor, on the first floor is a family bedroom with double bed and comfortable folding single bed, a double room and a shower room with large shower cabinet toilet and vanity unit. On the second floor is the large newly converted family room with its intricate exposed beams, wooden floor, a double and a single bed, seating area and en-suite shower room. Special attraction to your holiday is a spa situated in the private top garden which for a small charge you can use and there is a treatment room where Jenny Salter IIHHT FICHT Cert Ed is offering a number of relaxing treatments including reflexology, facials and massage with essential oils - go home feeling refreshed

The house is on the edge of the village of Rouvrou and is an ideal base for fishing, walking, rock climbing, canoeing, kayaking, golf or just relaxing. The pretty town of Pont D'Ouilly, the heart of the Suisse Normande, just 4 kms away offers all types of water sports, river walks, bars and restaurants. There are several reasonably priced restaurants locally for you to sample good food and atmosphere. There is fishing just 100 metres from the house and lovely walks around the village. We are situated equal distant from Falaise, Flers and Conde sur Noireau, all of which have swimming pools and a range of shops and both Flers and Falaise have interesting castles to visit. Nearby Clecy is popular with young and old for it's riverside restaurants, canoeing, kayaking, electric boats, rock climbing and much more.

Notes: A welcome pack will be waiting to greet to enable you to have a cup of tea or glass of wine before you start unpacking. All bedding, linen and towels are provided free of charge and extra pillows are always available. A Holistic treatment room has been set up in the adjoining cottage offering a wide variety of treatments for those wishing to pamper themselves. All sleeping accommodation is upstairs so although we welcome the elderly they would have to be able to negotiate stairs. The cot is a travel cot. There is a utility room with washing machine, toilet and sink.

Local Attractions: Just 5 mins away is Pont D'Oiully with the river and water sports where you can hire a canoe or kayak and meander down to Clecy, which is a real tourist attraction. It has an impressive model railway exhibition, interesting village centre, excellent riverside bars and restaurants, electric boats, mini golf, walks and rock climbing. It also has a golf course. Falaise, a market town just 20 mins away, is famous as the birthplace of William the Conqueror and his Chateau has been restored and is worthy of a visit. Falaise also has many old buildings, lovely little shops, restaurants and cafe bars to sit outside and watch the world go by, there is a Saturday market. Pont Erambourg has a Velorail and museum and Flers and Conde sur Noireau both have swimming pools.

Attractions of the Region: The ever changing countryside of Normandy make it a pleasure to drive round with so many interesting and attractive villages. St Pierre sur Dives has a brilliant Monday morning market with livestock, fresh produce and local cheeses. The Normandy D-Day beaches can be reached in an hour and there you will find several interesting museums. Bayeaux is a must with it's many historic buildings, museums and famous Bayeaux Tapestry. Caen is the major city of the region offering many shops as well as a castle and wonderful museums. Mont Saint Michel is a two hour journey can be combined with visiting Dinan and Dinnard with their historic old buildings. Just 20 mins away is Bagnoles de l'Orne best known for its health spas also has a lake with pedalos and casino. There is also a small golf course, swimming, tennis, shops etc so something for everyone. Domfront is a medieval town with a picturesque hilltop old town and ruined castle offering splendid views - well worth a visit!

My many visits to Notre Tranquillity

I have visited Notre Tranquillity on many occasions because Jenny and Ian are great hosts who make your stay as comfortable, enjoyable and relaxing as possible. The house has excellent facilities and the location is perfect as countryside surrounds you. The property has always been clean and well maintained on my visits. Jenny and Ian are a fun couple who make you feel welcome as soon as you step off the ferry. The treatments are terrific if you want a pamper break and its good value for money with the house, food, drink and treatments all included in the price. I have recommended Notre Tranquillity to a number of friends, some of them have taken the opportunity to have a break there and have come back well relaxed and glad they went. I always enjoy walking when I'm there and the nearby towns are also worth a visit. A few days at Notre Tranquillity is like having a week's holiday and I can't recommend it enough. I have known Jenny and Ian for 10 years and they have never changed in that time. If you want relaxation, peace and lovely countryside, Notre Tranquillity is the place to go.

As Relaxing As You make It

This holiday property ticks all the boxes and then some.
One visit was not enough and we broke the habit of a lifetime by returning the following year and look forward to future rendevous with the proprietors of this well placed cottage.

If you are a walking enthusiast then take advantage of the tens of signposted routes in the area. Cyclists are equally catered for with the veloroutes which also criss-cross the beautiful Suisse Normandie countryside.

Local markets are aplenty if bargain searching is your thing and food and wine connassieurs can replenish their larders from the easily acessed local towns of Flers and Falaise.

Nearby Falaise also provides interest in the form of the well refurbished castle of William the Conqueror. Guided tours here whet our appetite to visit Bayeux and the famous tapestry displayed within the beautiful town.

History is aplenty on the Normandy coast with the WWII beaches easily accessable and indeed the walks around Rouvrou turn up many commemorative memorials to mark the military action in this area.

Highly recommended is the free access to the mine of information that is hosts Jennie and Ian. Having their local knowledge to hand ensures that you get twice as much from your holiday removing all the hard work of finding what you want whilst at the same time ensuring you have all the privacy you want to have a truely relaxing break.
