The avenue runs from the Place de la Concorde to the Arc de la Triomphe, with some of the most prestigious and exclusive shops in Paris lining the way. The views along the Champs Elysees are phenomenal from almost every point along its course, although those from the top of the Arc de Triomphe are head and shoulders above anything else in the arrondissement. The Place de la Concorde, marked by the towering Egyptian obelisk in the centre, is the largest square in the city, offering a 360˚ panorama of Paris.

The hive of cafes, restaurants and bars along the Champs Elysees, Paris, are wonderfully elegant, and many hours can be spent watching the world drifting by from the elegant luxury of a restaurant table, occasionally popping into the famous shops of world renowned galleries that are interspersed along its length. The network of smaller streets of the 8th arrondissement which connect to the Champs Elysees also hold excellent little cafes, restaurants and some of the slightly larger Parisian department stores.

Paris, and especially the 8th arrondissement, has a fantastic range of tour options. Rising in popularity are the special 2CV tours, Paris’ equivalent of the Venice gondola. The summer months do see larger tourist crowds walking along the streets, as daily temperatures can be expected to reach up towards 30˚C in July and August.
