The apartment is also on the free bus route connecting it with the major skiing areas of Chatel and of course, the village centre.

The village of Châtel (1235m/4025ft) is located on the south-facing slopes of the River Dranse in the Chablais region and is one of the most attractive resorts in the region. It is a delightful village, covered in green pastures and forested slopes, and is minutes away from the Swiss border. For this reason, Châtel is often referred to as the French village with the Swiss feel. An hour and half from Geneva airport, access to the old spa town of Evian and the larger town of Thonon-les-bains is only a thirty minute drive away. Switzerland is on the doorstep and can be driven to from Châtel by the Pas-de-Morgin. Châtel also boasts an excellent range of restaurants, shops, banks and a host of recreational activities, 10-pin bowling, two cinemas, internet cafe, lake, ice rink...and lots more!

General: The apartment benefits from under-floor heating in Winter and is suited to families with children, being close to Chatel's Village des Marmattons (creche). The apartment consists of a kitchenette/lounge area with sofa bed and TV/DVD player, a main bedroom with double bed, bathroom with shower and hallway with bunk beds that can be folded away when not in use. The balcony overlooks the pistes and provides a great viewpoint for the stunning scenery.

Entertainment: Chatel boasts a wide selection of restaurants, many within walking distance of the apartment, serving local Savoyarde cuisine - the perfect place to spend an evening following a day on the slopes. In addition there are a number of cosy bars in the village centre with fantastic views of the scenery. Chatel also has a bowling alley and cinema. Playstation II video games console and games provided. TV/DVD player with selection of DVDs provided.

Ski: 100m from the Linga ski-lift linking you with the Portes du Soleil ski area, one of the largest ski areas in the world. Lift passes can be bought at the Linga station and ski-hire shops are very close by. There is also an individual ski-locker and lockable ski-rack provided in the basement of the apartment building. Free ski bus stops just outside the apartment building linking you with all of the main lifts in Chatel. Ski hire discount of 15% available at nearby ski hire shop.

Cosy well located apartment

Cosy apartment located a couple of minutes' walk from the Linga lift, which provides uninterrupted access to the skiing terrain of the Portes du Soleil. The free Chatel bus stops just outside the apartment and is very handy for going up to the village or trying alternative entry points into the Portes du Soleil.

We enjoyed many of the excellent restaurants which are within easy walking distance of the apartment.

The apartment is nicely decorated and has a separate boot room with a locker and lockable ski rack.

This is a great apartment in Chatel. It is really well located with excellent access to the different skiing areas, including being walking distance from one of the main lifts. It is also well-located for other conveniences, such as ski hire shops and the great restaurants Chatel has to offer. It is a cosily furnished and well-equipped apartment with lovely views from the balcony. It also has good parking and good ski storage facilities included. Owners reliable and honest.
Would definitely go again.

Super in winter and summer

A well-appointed apartment in the high mountains of France.

We have visited in the winter where the skiing facilities are brilliant. If you don't have kit, it can be hired from a few yards away, where you are 'measured up' for your needs. As it was my first time, my skis were set to beginner's level, making sure that it was easy to learn, without risk of injury. Nursery slopes are close by and many lifts are there to speed the experienced to higher things!

We have also visited in summer. When the sun comes over the top of the mountains around 11am. Prepare for several hours of blazing sunshine on the apartment balcony. While you are waiting, stroll into Chatel up the middle road, pick up a paper, some cheese and a bottle of decent French wine. Stop at the bakers on the way back and pick up some bread. Then get on the balcony and enjoy a very long lunch! Heavenly!

The apartment is well equipped and in excellent order. Thoroughly recommended.

The apartment is really well located, with some excellent restaurants within walking distance. There's also a supermarket close by. Inside the apartment is nicely decorated and modern.

Excellent ski pad, 2 minutes walk from Linga

This was an excellent place to stay for a week's skiing. The place is about two minutes walk from the Linga telecabine with great access to the rest of Portes du Soleil.

The apartment itself is clean and modern and comfortably sleeps four.

I'm considering staying again to go biking this summer...
