With amazing views over the valley, the apartment is situated on the edge of the old Savoyard town of Morzine, the hub of the Portes du Soleil ski area. 1.5 Km from the town centre & right by the stop for the free 'Navette' bus, giving access to the Pleney & Neon lifts with links to the Les Gets domain, and the Les Prodains and Super Morzine lifts giving access to the snow sure resort of Avoriaz, and further on to Chatel Linga, Super Chatel and Chapelle d'Abondonce and over to the Swiss resorts (take your passport).

Notes to the rental rates

  • A deposit of 20% of the cost is payable on booking with the balance due 6 weeks prior to booking. A £150.00 (200 euro)security deposit is required on booking and is returnable after your stay subject to breakages etc.
    Payment is preferred by bank transfer in euros, however sterling cheques are acceptable
  • Due to the high cost of flights at weekends we are offering mid week (Wednesday) changeover for the 2009 season. Please phone for details & availability and we will try to accommodate.
  • Please note that bookings are only accepted from couples and families. Singles groups are not normally catered for.
    Linen and towels are included in the rental cost.

Notes: The apartment, built in 1970 is spacious, clean & homely and has been recently newly re-furnished to a comfortable standard. The main bedroom has a double bed and wardrobe storage, with access to balcony. The second bedroom has 2 bunk beds sleeping 4, and built in wardrobe and storage. The salon has a comfortable 4 seater sofa, which converts to a double sized bed. It also features 2 easy chairs, TV, Ski Satellite (freeview available but take your viewing card), DVD home cinema & iPod dock. There is a Sony Playstation with some games & DVD’s. There is a dining table seating 6 persons. There is access to the balcony. The fully equipped & separate kitchen has the usual oven/hob, microwave, dish washer, fridge etc. There is a laundry/utility room with washer and dryer. The apartment is fully centrally heated with tiled floors to the throughout. There is a basement storage area for skis, boots etc, and there is allocated undercover parking in the private dedicated car parking spa

Ski / Boarding, En Hiver (Winter)

The Portes du Soleil Ski domain is reputed to be the largest linked ski area in the world with 650km of pisted ski runs, not including the off piste activities. Morzine is a traditional Savoyard town and is situated at the heart of the Portes du Soleil area at the end of the Vallee d'Aulps just 55kms from Geneva Airport (1 hour by car), and 35km from Lac Leman (Lake Geneva) with the resorts of Thonon les Bains and Evian (famous for its spa and spring water). The town itself has all the usual ski facilities of shops to cater for every whim of the dedicated ski/boarder. Plenty of superb restaurants catering for simple mountain food and in typical French fashion to the more sophisticated a la Carte cuisine. There are of course many lively bars and several clubs to keep those Apres Skiers happy. There is ample supermarket shopping in the main town and there are numerous other facilities for the non ski/boarders, such as a full size swimming pool, ice skating rink, fitness gym etc.

Summer activities 'En ete'

Whilst not an obvious choice for a summer break the Alps offer a superb range of activities not available in the 'Costas'. For those who walk or hike, the area is a dream come true. There are many marked routes for the serious hikers, those less adventurous can take the guided tours available locally. Morzine is a major centre for downhill mountain bikers and in the summer the ski lifts are open for bikers and the World Championships take place in Les Gets in September. Don't forget the white water rafting, parascending canoeing etc. For those in need of retail derived therapy there is a sophisticated shopping area in the beautiful spa town of Evian, just 30 minutes drive down the Vallee d'Aulps, great shops & boutiques, not mention numerous bars & restaurants. For those seeking the next stage of shopping experience, Geneva is a must.

Location

The apartment is located only 1200 metres from the centre of Morzine , on the free bus route with a stop directly outside the apartment. The bus runs every 15 mins in the season and takes you directly to the centre, a 2 minute journey. Morzine is approx 55km from Geneva airport and it is an easy journey by car taking approx 1hour 10 mins. There are also inexpensive personal airport transfers, the details of which can be supplied on request. There is also a bus service from Geneva airport to Morzine.
