Chatel is an attractive French Village where Savoyard tradition is still strong, and cattle and goat farms still exist side by side with the largest international interlinked ski domain in the world. The Portes du Soleil boasts in excess of 650 km of pisted skiing, linking Chatel with such resorts of Avoriaz, Morzine, Les Gets and Morgins, to name but a few! .
There are ski lifts only a short walk from the chalet as well as an excellent bus service that accesses the other lifts in the Portes du Soleil region.
The Ski lifts are also open during July and August when the mountains can be enjoyed on foot or by mountain bike, or alternatively from the comfort of the terrace of a mountain restaurant, while sampling a glass of the local wine. Other summer pastimes include white water rafting, swimming in the local pool, tennis, horse riding and
watersports nearby, at beautiful Lake Geneva.
In the evening Chatel is well served by many restaurants and bars. There is also a cinema.
