Luxury modern chalet in the extensive Portes du Soleil ski area. Newly built and well appointed, this luxury chalet offers plenty of room for up to 12. The chalet is offered on a self-catering basis, there is a spacious and fully equipped fitted kitchen with breakfast bar and a large dining area. Over 600 kms of piste suitable for all abilities is available close by - the largest linked ski area in the world. Close too are the pretty Alpine towns of Chatel and Chapelle d'Abondance. The luxury accommodation comprises: 2 double bedrooms, a twin room a fourth bedroom with two single beds and a set of bunk beds, the top bunk has limited head room and there is also a small bedroom equipped with bunk beds. A travel cot is also available. After your evening meal settle down in front of the wood burning stove and watch TV or a DVD, play a game or just chat. If you still have the energy hit the games room for a game of table tennis or table football.

Chalet Albine

There are a host of restaurants for those wishing to eat out. The chalet is directly on the route of 2 ski buses, one to La Panthiaz and the other to Chatel, however for those wishing to explore the whole of the Portes du Soleil we would advise a car. It is an easy journey from Calais and even easier if you fly to Geneva and rent.

Getting There

From Geneva or the local rail links it is a simple matter to hire a car. Once at the chalet the car will also open up the whole area allowing quick and easy access to some of the further lifts. There are two ski buses that stop yards from the chalet to take you to the lifts at Chatel (3 km) or the other way to Chapelle (less than 1 km). Both lifts get you quickly into fantastic skiing areas linking as far as you can wish.

Skiing Information:

The Portes du Soleil offers the World’s most extensive skiing domain, linking 14 resorts across 2 countries with 650km of piste. Passes are available for the whole area and ‘ski safari’ type tours can be arranged. Châtel situated at 1250 metres and has skiing up to 2400 metres, offering an equal balance of skiing for all levels. From some great black slope and off-piste skiing (regularly visited by the best free-stylers and free riders in the world), through to very appealing blues and reds and some excellent beginner facilities at multiple locations in the resort. For those looking to advance their skiing skills, there are 6 ski schools offering every level of tuition. Châtel also offers an excellent snow park with an 800 m ski and boarder cross run, 51 km of cross country pistes, night skiing in the Linga stadium and torchlight descents after an evening meal at one of the charming mountain restaurants.
