Photos and Description of this Les Gets holiday chalet 4 bedroom, 2 bath/shwr rooms, sleeps maximum of 10, self-catering in French Alps

The chalet is one of the best located in the resort and is very well furnished and equipped for self catering. You can walk 200 yards and then ski on a blue run on the Chavannes mountain slope to start or end your day's skiing without using your car. Accommodation comprises 3 bedrooms and a further mezzanine bedroom, two lounges, kitchen, 2 bathrooms, 2 seperate WC's, garage, balcony and garden. On the ground floor is the garage and skis & boot store. On the 1st floor we have 2 lounges - one open plan with the kitchen and a seperate one for the children, along with a bathroom / WC and seperate WC. On the second floor we have two bedrooms (both with double beds), a shower room and another seperate WC, the mezzanine bedroom area with 2 singles and the fourth bedroom with 2 bunk- beds and two single beds (usually for the children). The village centre is 15 minutes walk down the road, there is a free ski-bus that stops 20yds from the chalet and we are very close to the ski schools.

The Village:: Les Gets is as little as 7 or 8 hours drive from Calais, all on motorways except for the last 25 miles or one hours drive from Geneva Airport. The skiing links into Morzine and Avoriaz (2400 meters) directly. It is part of the largest international linked ski area in the world with 420 miles of pistes spread across 12 linked resorts. The area is suitable for all levels of skiers including beginners. The village has 2 French ski schools and the British Alpine Ski School. The night life is friendly and relaxed with many English speaking shops, restaurants, bars and discos and an indoor swimming pool, outdoor skating rink, health & fitness centre and cinema if you don't ski.

Summer:: Walking Alpine trails and mountain biking are probably the top summer attractions in Les Gets but you can also use a fantastic new 18-hole golf course at 1700 meters high, a swimming lake and water park, play tennis or go horse riding. Archery is possible, along with white water rafting, rock-climbing or paragliding if you're bored. Many people take day trips to Annecy which is beautiful or to Evian and Lac Leman (lake Geneva) less than 30 minutes away. There is also a superb new adventure park built in the forest for adults and children to swing from tree to tree on wires

Ski: Les Gets is an excellent family ski resort: closeby beginners can learn on the easy slopes while there is plenty of great skiing for the experienced in the local area and some really challenging runs like the 'Swiss Wall' easily accessible too. Our chalet is close to the main Ski schools and to the creche facilities so it is easy to drop your children off before going skiing yourself.

Les Gets is a great place for a an active summer holiday in the Alps. The chalet was clean and well equiped. Plenty of space for our group of 6 - the extra lonuge with TV was a nice touch for the kids. The owner was efficient and helpful in managing the booking, responding to queries, returnuiong the deposit etc.Instructions for arrivals, quirks of the chalet etc all comprhensive. The location is about half mile out of the village up a steep hill - so a car is necessary to get those breakfast croissants! e'd return....

We found Chalet La Felire a cosy, well-equipped home for the 10 of us, and especially appreciated the second lounge for our 4 children. Transport to the village on the free bus worked well, once we had grasped the timetable! Thank you.

Our 1st time to Les Gets and we loved the town and the slopes. Fantastic snow. The chalet was very comfortable, well equiped and plenty of space of everyone. The kids had thier own lounge where they could play their games and watch their own DVD's. The location is lovely and safe for the kids to play in the snow outside. We had a lovely time.

Excellent chalet with a good general layout. Open plan living space ideal for families as everyone is together and no-one gets stuck in the kitchen preparing food and drinks. Second sitting room is a definate bonus when groups want to watch or do separate things, although could do with second settee. Our experience was a clean and well kept chalet which copes well at full capacity ( could do with another couple of chairs for dining table to seat 10). Convenient location, although the drive is steep and difficult to get out off after heavy snowfall even with snow chains but snow plough did clear all way down the drive to chalet. Would recommend to others. Didn't manage to find walk through to piste but then some of our party were beginners and would have found the skiing difficult. Bus very convenient, also easy drive up to main slope. 15-20 mins walk down to village( with 4 yrs old), hard walk back though.
