Morzine and the Portes du Soleil::
Situated in the Haute-Savoie region of the French Alps, Morzine combines Alpine charm and the facilities of a large resort with the convenience of being only 90 minutes' drive from Geneva, and 8 - 9 hours from Calais via the AutoRoute. Not just a ski resort but a living, well-established town, Morzine is located in the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski circuit, where 15 resorts in France and Switzerland are linked to provide a staggering 650km of piste. It's a fact that often the most difficult daily decision for our guests is which area to discover next!
Mountain Highs Service::
Mountain Highs is owned and run by Rachel Pullen and Dean Reed. We'll personally look after all aspects of your holiday, starting from the time you enquire with us right up to the end of your weeks' skiing. In between, we'll be happy to assist with first-hand local information about the resort, the skiing, the après-ski, and we can save you time in resort by helping get your childcare, ski passes and ski lessons organised in advance. Once you arrive in resort, our staff and ski guide are on hand to show you where to hire (or buy) skis, boards and boots, to give you advice and information about the local weather and conditions, and where to find the best bars and restaurants! Our aim above all is to enable you to relax and enjoy your holiday.
Ski guiding for intermediates upwards is available for catered guests on 3 days a week. This is a free service, and does not include any element of teaching (please ask us for information about ski lessons or courses if you are interested).
Mountain Highs Catering:
Our chalet catering has an excellent reputation, and this is because we have always set ourselves very high standards and listen to what our guests say. Our food is renowned for its quality and variety, with menus drawn up from many years catering for all ages and tastes. We don’t scrimp on the food budget; local fresh produce is used as much as possible and we like to serve local Savoyarde and regional French dishes, with specialities from further afield too. You’ll find delicious meat and poultry courses, tasty fish dishes, as well as plentiful and colourful salads and vegetables to accompany them. Desserts range from home-made fruit tarts and naughty chocolate creations to favourite nursery puddings and pies!Your 3 - course dinner will be served with unlimited red or white wine, selected by us, and after dinner there’s coffee or herbal teas, petit fours and sometimes a sampling of the local eau-de-vie! Breakfasts are always satisfying too.
