Chalet Shufu has an ideal location; situated close to Morzine, Avoriaz and Les Gets, it is an easy walk to the village resort centre of St. Jean d'Aulps and only 1 hour from Geneva in the French Alps. St. Jean d'Aulps is a small traditional Alpine village within the huge Portes du Soleil ski area in which there are a further 13 resorts between France and Switzerland. A choice of different Portes du Soleil ski-lifts are just 10 minutes away and Thonon les Bains with Lac Leman (Lake Geneva) being 30 minutes away in the other direction. Chalet Shufu faces south getting sunshine all day and has the River Dranse at the bottom of the garden with excellent views down the valley. We are an easy 10-minute walk from the shops, bars and restaurants in the village centre.

Skiers and Snowboarders

The Portes du Soleil has everything and lots of it; from the very gentlest of beginners runs (just 5 minutes from the chalet here in St Jean d'Aulps) to a world cup downhill course and the infamous 'Wall' in Les Crosets. In addition to the 650km of piste, there are board parks, half-pipes, plenty of off-piste and numerous bars/restaurants to keep you going!

As soon as possible after arrival at Chalet Shufu we take you to get skiing or snowboarding equipment at a hire-shop with good gear at very competitive rates. An English-speaking Instructor visits the chalet on your arrival evening to discuss lessons whenever necessary.

Every morning our minibus sets out to whichever lift you’d like to start from and picks you up again at either a pre-arranged time or upon a call from your mobile. Then it’s back to the chalet; warmth - drinks - comfort - conviviality and fabulous food!

Skiing Information:

The Portes du Soleil is the largest internationally linked ski area in the world. In both France and Switzerland, it has a reliable snow record, picturesque scenery, excellent regional food and because of its close proximity to Geneva airport, is one of the most popular ski domains in the Alps.
