Fully catered chalet in huge 'Portes du Soleil' ski area

We have stayed here twice now, first time during July and the second in May. Not done a ski season yet. Both times we have had the chalet to ourselves and Stuart and Linda have looked after us brilliantly. Our room was clean and warm with enough space. Their hospitality is second to none with Linda being an excellent cook. Lots of good advice on places to visit etc. It's only a short walk into the village where there are 2 or 3 restaurants. The area was great in July but wouldn't go again in May as it was very quiet with lots of places shut as it is between seasons. We struggled to find restaurants that were open in an evening. Would recommend it to friends going to that area.

My family and I have spent 3 wonderful holidays at Chalet Shufu, and hope to have lots more!

Chalet Shufu has a wonderful atmosphere, very warm and inviting - a perfect place to spend a holiday.

The transfers to and from the slopes each day are great, especially when you have children. This also means that each day you can start and finish at a different point, and therefore get the most out of your skiing experience.

The food is excellent, all lovingly made. Special diets are also very well catered for.

I have, and will continue to recommend Chalet Shufu to friends.

An excellent choice of chalet within 10mins drive of at least half a dozen top ski areas within the porte du soleil region.
Chalet and hospitality as described on website - very welcoming and family friendly.The standard of cuisine was exceptional with good early dinners for the younger guests.The oriental specialities were particularly good and the food could really not be faulted although the porridge was of a particularly unique consistency and was only sampled on the one occasion.

It seemed that many of the guests were on a return visit which is testament to how highly thought of the chalet is.Transfers to and from ski-hire shops and on a daily basis to the slopes all seem to run like clockwork but can be completely flexible to suit guests schedules.

The chalet is suited to couples or families as there is not a great deal in the way of nightlife on its doorstep.The local village has a couple of decent restaurants and a family friendly pub which serves good pizza.

Children will be very happy to be staying at chalet shufu.The owner has an amazing collection of dvds ranging in suitability for toddler to teenager.If the child is particularly fortunate the owners vast collection of thunderbirds memorabilia may be available.

All in all a perfect choice for a family skiing holiday within an hours drive of geneva airport.Also a good base for walking ,rafting and mountain biking during the summer months.My family try and visit on an annual basis but such is the chalets popularity that finding a room during school holidays is not as easy as it once was.early booking is essential.
