The Three Valleys in the heart of the French Alps is the largest ski area in the world. Skiing in the Three Valleys means access to 200 ski lifts, 330 downhill runs with an overall length of 600km. No matter what your experience, preference of run or choice of winter sport, the Three Valleys has something for everyone. The Three Valleys come alive during the winter, but in the summer, it offers sublime scenery to walk, mountain bike or relax in. A ski chalet in the Three Valleys can be used all year round.

Places to holiday in the Three Valleys

Meribel has 150km of downhill runs, 9 black runs, 23 red and 36 blue, which makes it a resort for fairly experienced skiers. A chalet in Meribel is a great place for slalom, as it has two slalom stadiums and 2 Olympic runs.

Courchevel is a stylish resort at the heart of the Three Valleys. It is hugely popular for downhill, cross country skiing, mountaineering and snowboard cross. Courchevel ski chalets are in great demand due to the length of the snow sport season, and due to the luxury, stylish chalets. Taking Courchevel accommodation is great for mixed experience or family holidays, as there are runs catering for every standard of skier, and ski schools for novices. The town also boasts 100 shops, art galleries, spas, bowling alleys, and a massive amount of après-ski!

La Tania and St Martin de Belleville are modern resorts with skiing for all levels of experience. Due to their height, there is almost guaranteed to be good snow cover for the whole season, and if snow is sparse, there are hundreds of snow cannons to fill the pistes. La Tania is a magnificent place in the summer. The resort prides itself on hiking, mountaineering and mountain biking trails, and is a great place to take a Three Valley chalet during the summer.

Val Thorens and Les Menuires are ski resorts which have not only concentrated on the skiing and snowboarding, but have extended their facilities to include paragliding, snowmobiling, dog sledding, fun parks and spas. Les Menuires is especially children friendly, with many indoor activities, ski schools and activities for children.

Things to do on a Three Valleys holiday

The Three Valleys has everything you could possible require and desire from a skiing or winter sport holiday. Downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, off-piste, snow parks, slalom courses, half pipes, bob-sleighing, ice climbing, heli-skiing and ski schools are all easily available in the Three Valleys during the winter.

The après-ski in the Three Valleys is also superb. In fact, the restaurants, bars, pubs and clubs are so good that there is no reason to ski having rented a Three Valley ski chalet!

If you are not a skier, and are not interested in learning, there is still a huge amount to be done in the Three Valleys, and a huge number of reasons to take a Three Valleys chalet. Outside of the towns, you can race buggy carts, go hangliding, luge, Nordic walking, ice climbing, play golf or just relax in one of the magnificent spas.

Flights to the Three Valleys

There are four main Airports which service the Three Valleys. Geneva (GVA), Lyon (LYN), Chambery (CMF) Grenoble (GNB) Airports all receive daily flights from the UK, so it is best to decide upon your route before shopping for the best deal on cheap flights to the Three Valleys.
