ONCE MORE, ST GEORGES HAS BEEN AWARDED A 'PAVILLON BLEU' (BLUE FLAG) FOR 2009 : THIS DEMONSTRATES THAT THE BEACH IS CLEAN AND THAT THE SEA WATER IS UNPOLLUTED.

'The 4 kilometre long beach of Saint Georges, protected by the rocky points of Vallières and Suzac, shows our exceptional environment. In the North, at the Pointe de Vallières, at the foot of the lighthouse, the nice little harbour is a haven of peace. In the South, the forest of Suzac gives harmoniously way to the houses built under the trees. The forest which is composed of many Mediterranean species of trees, shows a temperate oceanic climate.
At last, facing the ocean, the city is at the mouth of the largest European estuary : The Gironde.'

' We had a brilliant time in St Georges. We thought the town was lovely and the
view from your apartment stunning. The beach is great and, as the
weather was so good all the time we were there, we were able to spend
loads of time on it - which our children really enjoyed. We also loved
exploring the area, which we had never visited before, and thought it
was very beautiful.
We have not decided what to do for our holiday in August next year but
returning to St Georges is certainly a possibility. Would your
