The ground floor lounge is spacious and comfortably furnished with three piece suite, TV and radio/CD. First floor consists of double bedroom; a twin bedded mezzaine room, lounge area (with double sofa bed, dining for four and fully equipped kitchen); and a luxury shower room. The ground floor lounge is always shady and cool and opens out through double doors to the garden with barbecue and dining furniture. Large garden with sun beds - sun/shade, there is a peaceful spot to be found. The stunning views over open countryside and tranquillity make this an ideal spot for a relaxing break. Ideally situated for a beach holiday in Royan (25 min), country walks, world famous seafood & wines & Cognac. The area is steeped in history -Saintes, La Rochelle, Cognac every village has something to discover.

Notes to the rental rates

• £100 per week deposit is required to confirm reservation. Balance required 6 weeks before arrival date. A refundable deposit of £100 against breakages is required on arrival. Bed linen, towels including beach towels and tea towels are provided. There will be a welcome gift (bread, butter, wine etc) awaiting your arrival but we will gladly do a little shopping for you (at your expense) if you let us know in advance.
  Midweek bookings are acceptable in September and October.
  
• The rental rates given are for two people. A charge of £25 per week per person is added if there are more than two guests.

This is a recent barn conversion to a very high standard. The owners live in a traditional, Charentaise stone farmhouse on site and you can be sure of a warm welcome. To find out more please do not hesitate to contact them and they will only be too pleased to share their love of this beautiful corner of France. Fribaud is an ideal spot if you just want to chill out and enjoy the peace and tranquility or perhaps sit and watch the sunset over the fields and sip a glass of the local wine. Or maybe a stroll round the beautiful leafy lanes. But it is also ideally situated to tour the Charente Maritime with its many and varied coastal resorts, the oyster beds, the vineyards, the historic towns and villages (Saintes is ten minutes away - it is rich in roman architecture, the Charente river gently flows through the town and it has wonderful markets selling local produce every day except Mondays but on the first Monday of the month all the roads are closed to accommodate a huge foire).

A great week - great accommodation in a great location. Very quiet and peaceful. Sat and watched the sunset over Fribaud. Josie and Roy were always on hand for help and advice and have done a fantastic job in their barn conversion. We really enjoyed our stay and everything was provided for an excellent holiday. Very impressed and we will be recommending Fribaud Pastorale to our friends. Had a lovely week, the barn is very comfortable and has all you need for a relaxing holiday. After watching the sunset over the fields, the stars begin to appear. Never seen so many. Then slept like a log. Wonderful. Everywhere is easy to get from here - Royan, St Palais, Ile d'Oleron, Ile de Re. All have great beaches. Thank you for having us - its been fantastic. Lovely weather, lovely food, great accommodation. Coming back soon. Roy and Josie are spot on - Roy even came to find us when we were lost!
