A large (69sqm) luxurious self catering 2 bedroom apartment (plus a mezzanine), one of 4 in Chalet D in Les Alpages des Carroz, built in 2004. Sleeps 6 comfortably without intruding on the living accommodation. This wonderful chalet apartment is situated next to the sport centre, a short walk away from the 'Jardin de Neige' (Snow Nursery for younger children) and a very pleasant 10 minute walk to the village centre, with the ski bus stop conveniently located at the end of the drive. The chalet offers dramatic views from the balcony over the slopes of Les Carroz. There is ample car parking outside the chalet. The unit also benefits from a private ski locker(located in front of the entrance). Les Carroz is a traditional family resort, easily accessible from Geneva airport (less than 1 hour door-to-door). A gem of a village which combines charm, easy access and big mountain skiing. The resort has plenty of traditional restaurants and bars, wonderful shops and numerous activities.

Les Carroz is a traditional French Alps village, one of the 5 linked resorts that make up the Grand Massif region (Flaine, Samoens, Morrillon, Sixt & Les Carroz being the fifth). There is an abundance of high quality skiing right on the doorstep with 265km/165 miles of well-connected pistes on offer, making this area the 3rd largest ski resort in France. Apart from being one of the most snow sure regions in the Alps with an excellent snow record and skiing to suit all levels. Les Carroz also benefits from its prime location, just 45 minutes away from Geneva Airport and 30 minutes away from Chamonix. The beautiful town of Annecy with its wonderful lake is only 40 minutes away, which is a great place to visit. Italy's sunny Courmayeur is only an hour away. Les Carroz is a traditional family resort where life revolves around the square with its pavement cafes, restaurants and little shops. There is a choice of ski schools and numerous activities.

Additional information about rental rates

  • All prices in GBP. Linen and towels can be rented at an extra cost from our local Agent of €100 for 6 people. The apartment is available as self-clean or with a cleaning charge of €52 per week. To secure a booking we require a non-refundable deposit of 20% of the holiday cost in €(or can be agreed in GBP as well) in the form of a bank cheque. Within eight weeks of the start of the holiday, we require the balance of the full rental, plus a returnable damage deposit of €250 (or £ equivalent) in the form of a bank cheque.
  • The apartment should be left clean suitable for occupancy. Hoover, mop and cleaning products are provided.

Notes: This is a large 2 storey apartment with vaulted ceilings; a charming unit decorated in a traditional alpine style with wooden ceilings and walls. It sleeps 6 people comfortably in two bedrooms and the mezzanine loft. Downstairs: Bedroom 1 (vaulted ceiling) with double bed & built-in cupboards; Family Bathroom (bath tub and shower with screen, washbasin, hot towel rail and mirror cabinet); Separate Toilet; large open-plan Living/Dining/Kitchen area (vaulted ceiling), furnished with traditional pine furniture and comfortable sofa and armchairs. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, extractor fan, halogen hob and traditional pine cabinets. The large balcony and kitchen window enjoy views over the village to the mountains and ski slopes. Upstairs: Bedroom 2 with 2 single beds and a large mezzanine loft with a pullout double sofa. Getting there & Transfers: Les Carroz is the most accessible ski resort in the Alps. BY CAR. It is the nearest to UK by car. Being in Haute Savoie, it avoids the motorway bottlenecks en route to the Savoie and Haute-Alpes ski regions. Of the Haute Savoie resorts, Les Carroz is the nearest resort to Geneva. From Calais, it is 8hrs by car, with all except the last 10 km via motorway. The spectacular ascent to the resort is by a good mountain road, ploughed to a very high standard during snowstorms. Chains may be required for the last part of the ascent (2/3 km) and there are several safe lay-bys designated for attaching the chains. BY AIR. BA, Easy Jet and Swiss fly to Geneva airport. Be sure to exit on the Swiss side and book your cars / transport on this side. The Chalet is exactly 72 km door-to-door from Geneva airport, the journey takes less than an hour.

Skiing: Les Carroz is one of 5 linked resorts of the Grand Massif ski area (265kms of pistes at altitudes of 700 to 2500 metres). Links between them are excellent except for Sixt (bus only). Les Carroz is the most easily accessible and the most charming resort. Its extensive skiing is mainly reds/ blues. Flaine has the high altitude, bowls, long runs, jampark and fabulous views across the Mont Blanc range. Samoens is a charming historic village, about 1Km from the main lifts. Morillon is mainly modern liftside accommodation with good, but limited, intermediate skiing. Sixt is a small resort, ideal for green slopes, with mainly bus access.

We have just returned from a new year break in Les Carroz and stayed in this appartment. It was clean, warm, modern and had a great shower! The courtesy bus took us to and from the ski slopes and we never waited more than a few minutes. The skiing was brilliant and the village and resort really friendly and pretty.

Would highly recommend and will definitely go back again.
