This bright, completely renovated fifth floor apartment, with lift, balcony and breathtaking views of the Sacre Coeur to the North and Notre Dame away to the South, is fully equipped to sleep up to 2 to 5 people across three good sized rooms, plus separate kitchen, bathroom and lavatory. With parquet floors and windows facing West, East and North, the apartment is bright and welcoming even in the dullest weather and utterly glorious when the sun shines. Being high up, the apartment is quiet and serene. The main sitting room faces West and catches the sunshine throughout the afternoon and evening. A large sofa converts into a proper double bed. The french windows lead onto the balcony with views of the Sacré Coeur, big enough for table and chairs to enjoy breakfast, lunch or an evening drink. The dining room has a small sofa, dining table, which converts to sit six easily. In this room we can accommodate a fifth person on a single fold out bed.

Location: 18th Montmartre in France

Nestling under the Butte of Monmartre in the heart of ultra-trendy Amelie country and situated just 15 minutes walk from Gare du Nord or 8 minute bus ride, the apartment is located on rue de Steinkerque, in the 18th arrondissement (nearest Metros Anvers and Abbesses). You could hardly have a more perfect Parisian location. Locally, turn right out of the front door and within 30 seconds you’re at the foot of the Butte of Montmartre looking up at the extraordinary Sacré Coeur. Head further west and within 5 minutes you’re in the midst of the trendy Abbesses area, with its many bars and restaurants, as well as growing numbers of eclectic boutiques. On Sundays rue des Abbesses and rue Lepic really bustles with an excellent food market. Head East and you’re immediately in the main fabric buying district of Paris – veritable dress makers heaven. POLITE NOTICE TO GUESTS: The owners request that no shoes be worn in the apartment.

Notes: Leading off the dining room is the main bedroom, with a modern double bed, chest of drawers and a radio/alarm clock. The bedroom window faces North, with views across Parisian rooftops and glimpses of the Sacré Coeur. The bathroom is brightly tiled with wash basin and shower with a “sabot” type French tub (in which you sit down). There is a range of soaps, shampoos and shower gels, and towels are provided. The lavatory is separate. The compact kitchen is fully equipped with oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, electric kettle, toaster and all the crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, glasses and gadgets to enjoy dinner “at home”. The kitchen window affords delightful views to the Marché St Pierre and surrounding buildings. The bookshelves contain various English and French books, as well as many guide books, maps and a folder of restaurant cards and useful magazine cuttings.

Getting around Paris is also extremely easy from rue de Steinkerque. Metro Anvers (one minute away on boulevard de Rochechouart at the bottom of rue de Steinkerque) is on the East-West line 2, which takes you via Monceau and the fashionable 17th and 8th arrondissements to the Arc de Triomphe in one direction, and Nation via Pere Lachaise cemetery in the other. Walk five minutes to Metro Abbesses and you’re on the North-South line 12, which going South takes you to Gare St Lazare, for “Les Grands Magasins”, Madeleine, Concorde, and onto the Left Bank - Solferino (for Musee d’Orsay), Sevres Babylone (for Bon Marche) and finally Montparnasse. The owners request that no shoes be worn in the apartment as they mark and make a noise for the neighbours.

There are also two useful buses nearby. Catch number 30 on Boulevard de Rochechouart, for Trocadero, via Arc de Triomphe, in one direction and Gare du Nord in the other. Catch number 67 by Pigalle metro (5 minutes walk away) for the Hotel de Ville and beyond onto the Left Bank. If you don’t fancy public transport, “Les Grands Magasins”, Opera and Madeleine are a gentle 20 minute stroll down the hill.

This realy feels like you have your own place in Paris. Plenty of space, lots of light, clean and every little extra you can think of. On a little street thats very touristy but dont worry when you are up on the small (but big enough for the little table and chairs) balcony you have the buisy feeling but you are five floors up away from it all with loads of rooftops to gaze at in your own world, and yes you can see Sacre Coeur, you have to lean out a bit but its there, a lovely sight at night when its lit up.
Go out from the front door and turn right 30m will bring you acualy onto the very bottom of Sacre Coeur, further 80m to the Funicular. Turn left from door and 100m you have Anvers metro. For a real Paris atmosphere check your map find Place des Abbesses no more than five minutes strole through little shops and cafes and the area between there and Rue Le Pecic there are some real cafes, the sit on the pavement and bowl of olives type, There you will escape the crowds around Sacre Coeur.
We loved our place in Paris and further more we had great service from Michelle and her team and you have an agent localy with a cell phone number if needed.
