Manifique Monceau - le vrai Paris
This is le vrai Paris! Ask any Parisian where they would like to live and ultra-chic Monceau will always be on their list - and why not? As an area it has everything...the famous Paris stores, lovely Parc Monceau, rue de Levis street market, a host of cafes. Our first floor apartment on a quiet street is newly redecorated. Bright (6 windows!), open style with a great layout and lots of space. A modern bathroom with a terrific shower, and we removed the wall so the kitchen and dining room are now one, and all of the modern conveniences of life (DVD, Cable Television, fast speed connection computer, washing machine). Finally our cosy bedroom has a comfortable queen sized bed, ready to fall into at the end of a busy day. It's also lovely to wake up in a room it with a window directly across from the bed. Decorated with modern equipment and antique furniture the ideal place to stay from 4 nights to 4 months this is the place to stay in the heart of the Monceau area.

5 minutes walk from Parc Monceau, unknown to most visitors, is just a short stroll away. Built by the Duke of Burgundy in 1769, it became a park in 1860. Since then Monet has painted it, newly weds are photographed amongst its faux Roman and Egyptian ruins, children play, joggers jog, and local residents gather to enjoy the beauty and calm. In addition to the park, you are right at rue de Levis, one of the best year-round street markets in Paris. You can find everything you need for a picnic, a sumptuous ready-made meal at home, or the makings of your own feast. Outstanding charcuteries, poissonnerie, fromagerie, boulangerie, the best wine shops, bakeries, chocolates- it's all just a few steps from the front door. 3 minutes walk gets you to Metro Villiers, one of the best metro stops in the city, connects you to Metro lines 2 and 3, giving you quick, no change access to many of Paris's high spots, everything from the Champs Elysee to Galleries Lafayette.

Further details for the apartment in Paris, France
The apartment is tucked away on a tiny side street, providing a quiet haven after a day (or night!) in the city. Once inside you will find a bright, well laid out and inviting pied a terre. The apartment has windows on both sides, which provide light throughout the day. The wide plank, herringbone parquet floors date the apartment to sometime before 1875 and some of the antique furniture is from the same era. Original ceiling mouldings adorn the main rooms of the flat. The entry foyer of the apartment has a large storage area for extra linens, towels, coats, suitcases and more. It's a great spot to drop your bags after a day shopping around the street market. This foyer leads directly into a living room with large windows, an antique armoire and bookcase (with plenty of guide books about Paris) as well as a traditional, French gold mirror over the fireplace. Bright and sunny, the dining room has a lovely antique table making it just right for enjoying a meal at home or

• We had a great time in Kate's flat. It was well thought out, well equipped and very comfortable. It was great having access to the internet whilst away from home and not having to go looking for an internet cafe (which I have never used but was willing to try). The only time we looked at the TV was to look at the liberation festival information on Wednesday. We saw the tanks and other military and civilian vehicles having extremely noisy practice circuits around the Hotel de Ville area on the Tuesday evening which was very interesting. Just a bit of information in case anyone else asks, we parked the car in the garage at the end of rue Claude Pouillet at a cost of 66 euros for 10 days (much better than 2 euros per hour on the street!) and it was very easy to organise. I'll be in touch with you before our next trip to Paris, until then - take care.

• We have been to Paris several times but this is the first time we rented an apartment (vs. hotel stay). What a fabulous idea! Thank you for your hospitality. We really felt at home here and enjoyed living in this neighbourhood – so lively and colourful! Being so close to the metro has been excellent and being able to contact home via Internet was such a blessing being away for so long. The apartment flooded with sunlight with the windows open so we could hear the Parisian street noise! Paris in the anytime is always wonderful and we were glad to have stayed here this trip. Thank you for providing such a lovely home away from home! Summer & Jill 19 August 2006 • After travelling to seven countries in 30 days, this beautiful apartment was straight out of our dreams. We loved the small town atmosphere, the welcoming people, and the feel of a home away from home. One of our most favourite past times was cooking dinner after shopping on the Parisian streets.

• Hi Gail – you know we loved it – roadwork and all. Rue des Dames we refer to as “eat street”
and the interesting cafes & sandwich shops stretch all the way to the cemetery. I enjoy
cooking so we ate in a lot so I could experiment with crepes (buckwheat, whole wheat and
chocolate (Nutella). Favorite bread was the country baguette at “Blonde Pain” take a right on
rue des Dames (open most days). The excellent frozen food store Picard is in 2 locations
nearby. They are good & very popular it seems.
It was cold during our stay & we love coming back to this cozy home away from home. Check
out Parc Monceau, the nearby museums and music presentations at the music schools near
too.
The Henner Museum on Villiers is free since it’s partially closed, but very interesting. Nissam
Comonda in Parc Monceau and the Jacquesmart-Andre on Haussmann- both great & near.
Ride the little bus around Montmartre- especially uphill. Skip the flea market.
